Life Lately - New Home, Making a Project House a Home

Hey All

I mentioned at the beginning of the year that C and I had bought our first home, property by us has been rising in price and we were getting to the point we were about to be priced out, as we started to look more at properties we decided a fully done up house wasn't for us. We knew we wanted traditional features still in the house, we wanted a bay and we wanted something we could make our own.

We've been in the house for over 6 months and I can't believe how much time flies so I thought I'd shared some of our progress, we've essentially lived in a building site for the last 3 months with our bedroom being our only sanctuary and because of all the work the rabbits were also in our room so it's been stressful!

Life Update - 2018 so far!

Hello everyone! It's been quite a long time since my last blog post, I'm normally pretty on the ball with scheduling posts, tweets and having my images edited and ready to go bit the last few weeks have been so busy I haven't even had time to think straight!

My last post was 3 weeks ago, so I thought I'd share some of the things I've been up to recently and share some snaps. I love seeing pictures of things that other people have been up to so I hope you like seeing mine too!

Easy Ways to Switch to an Eco Friendly Cruelty Free Home

Hey All

So you'll have heard us mention many times on the blog now that I'm totally cruelty free in all I use and L is moving that way too. I initally started with make up and it took me a while to even think about all the products in the home and find suitable alternatives for these too!

2017: The Highs and Lows

I always like writing round up posts, especially when you're coming to the end of something. It feels like you can summarise it together and like a good essay, finish it with a conclusion. Looking back can be a reminder of how far you have come and also be a reminder of things you have conquered both good and bad.

2017 wasn't the best year, but it also could have been a lot worse. I was going to gloss over the bad but I feel like that wouldn't be an accurate representation of my year and how difficult it has been at times.

In the interest of being as honest as possible and not pretending everything is ok, here's my year in a summary with all the good and the bad mixed in - I'm hoping it will act like therapy and make me feel ready for 2018 and a whole new chance at change! Make yourself a cup of tea as this is a bit of a long one...

The Greyhound Inn, Letcombe Regis

As you know I travel with work so I stay in many hotels, and hotels can be memorable for many reasons. I've stayed in some pretty ugly ones but I try to forget those...when you stay somewhere good it makes it all the more memorable.

Cue my recent stay in The Greyhound Inn, in Letcombe Regis. I don't think I have ever written a hotel review so be nice! I just couldn't resist but share some pictures from my stay, so grab a cuppa and see why I decided to share them this time.

Healthy Vegetarian and Vegan, Quick and Easy Meal Ideas

Hey All

The past few weeks have been so busy and I wanted to share my latest favourite vegetarian and vegan cookbooks with you.

I went vegetarian around March time, I eat the occasional fish so technically I guess I'm pescatarian but I would like to cut that out too. Me and my OH used to eat a lot of vegetarian meals in the house and always made curries, chillies and Mexican dishes vegetarian so I wanted a bit more inspiration for more meal ideas that would be health and easy to do!

Who doesn't love Prosecco these days and unlimited Prosecco at that. Grey's based in the Hilton Cardiff offer a great two course lunch and bottomless Prosecco for the great price of £25!

I've actually been here twice now and I'm planning the third, I've always gone on a Sunday and it's lovely and quiet and the staff are always attentive.

Zero Degrees Beer Tasting and Food

Hi all!

Recently we were both invited to Zero Degrees in Cardiff for an evening of beer tasting and food, we've both been before on random occasions for the odd drink but not for a meal and drinks so this was a great opportunity and we were really looking forward to it.

Camelbak Forge: The Ultimate Leak Proof Travel Mug

Hey all

A bit of a different thing to share today but I've spent ages searching for a travel coffee mug that doesn't leak and this one is so good I had to share.

My commute to work involves a 30 minute walk then bus, I like to have my coffee on the bus so I'm always searching for a travel mug I can shove in my handbag and not have to worry about leaking over everything, until recently I had to ensure it was always stood upright but when I was introduced to the Camelbak forge all that change, a mug that's actually leakproof!

The Must Have Wooden Sunglasses from Woodstylz

Hey All

With the sun occasionally poking its head out from behind the clouds in our great British summer I thought I'd share these amazing sunglasses I've been loving.

Last year whilst at Glastonbury (we've shared all of our posts on the happiest place in the world here!) me and C saw a stall selling amazing wooden sunglasses. I've never bought any sunglasses for more than £20 as I lose or break them but the Woodstylz sunglasses kept coming into our head so we both decided to treat ourselves and grabbed a pair. We decided our eyes deserved proper polarized decent sunglasses and it's a decision we've not regretted!

Cocorico is somewhere I've been absolutely loving recently, I've been for tea and cake, a macaron masterclass and an amazing breakfast so when L asked what I wanted to do for my birthday I decided it was time to try their afternoon tea!

The Brass Beetle

We were super lucky recently and were invited to the opening of the Brass Beetle, this is a new restaurant on Whitchurch Road in Cardiff and I think it fills a gap in the market.

Validation facial - Lush Spa Cardiff

Hey All

This is another of the posts I've been meaning to write for a while, so as I'm travelling down to Cornwall I thought I would share it with you.

As soon as I heard Lush was opening a spa I was pretty excited, I love going on spa days with my mum or friends and as I love all things Lush I couldn't wait to try it out. Back in January I bought my mum a treatment for her birthday so we could go together when it was open.

Festival Make Up!

Hey All

We love festival style and we've been to Glastonbury in 2014 and 2016 and just loved all the make up and hair. When we didn't get tickets this year we were gutted so we decided to have a night in at mine, play with our make up and drink cocktails and get C to take photos for us of the looks!

We love experimenting and decided this was the perfect excuse. (previous posts on hair here, top ten moments here and some makeup up from 2016 here!)

Falafel Kitchen - Cardiff

Hey all!

We've mentioned a few times recently that we've both gone vegetarian - for different reasons but we both enjoy food and cooking so much that we've fully embraced it and have been trying new recipes as well as new eateries.

The next on our list was Falafel Kitchen, found on Crwys Road in Cardiff.

10 Things to Help You Deal with Stress

Morning all!

I've got a bit of a different post for you today. The last few years have been stressful for me for a variety of reasons, probably no different to anyone else's life stresses but mine has obviously been building up and has recently made me ill. I might share more about this in future but for now I've been searching for ways to help me deal with the stress and recover, hopefully in a few months it will have gone away!

I've been writing this post for a while now but decided with it being Mental Health Week it is time to share my ideas and see if you have any you can share with me too. I've put together a list of things that have helped me the last few months and might help you too, so here's my top 10:
