The Greyhound Inn, Letcombe Regis

As you know I travel with work so I stay in many hotels, and hotels can be memorable for many reasons. I've stayed in some pretty ugly ones but I try to forget those...when you stay somewhere good it makes it all the more memorable.

Cue my recent stay in The Greyhound Inn, in Letcombe Regis. I don't think I have ever written a hotel review so be nice! I just couldn't resist but share some pictures from my stay, so grab a cuppa and see why I decided to share them this time.

The last few weeks I've been travelling all over the place for work and trying to keep up with everything, so I've got a post to show you what I've been up to!

Coldra Court by Celtic Manor

Hey All

Travel posts are some of my favourite to write lately. I love going away and exploring somewhere whether it be for a night or longer! Recently C and I decided we deserved so me time so when he got back from one of his four week trips abroad we booked in to stay at Coldra Court.

We booked one of the dinner, bed and breakfast deals online and went for Coldra Court as it was much cheaper than the resort, still looked lovely and if we wanted to we could have headed up to Celtic Manor for beauty treatments!

Coldra Court is Celtic Manors newest addition to the chain and is only 10 minutes away from the main resort hotel. They also run a shuttle service so you can make use of it all. As I was away for some us time I do have to apologise as our food was amazing but I didn't snap away during dinner!

We stayed in a standard room and everything was decorated beautifully. The space in them was amazing too. I love the nudes and the classic furniture. It all just feels luxurious. The only thing I would say is the rooms didn't have air conditioning. I do think even though it doesn't get massively hot in the UK it's nice to be able to control the temperature of the room. You could open the windows (which we did) but there was road noise this didn't bother us though.

One thing I thought was great was that the plug sockets had USB ports. This meant that there wasn't a fight for the sockets and they were positioned well within the rooms layout. The bathroom was lovely with Elemis toiletries. I do love that Celtic Manor has these throughout the resort.

As part of the rate we booked we also had a three course meal in the restaurant. There was a wide variety of choice and also the option to have a buffet starter, carvery and buffet desert. We both opted for the al la carte menu and it didn't disappoint. The pork belly was amazing! Breakfast in Seasons restaurant was also great, there was a wide selection of hot and cold food and service for tea and coffee to the table was quick.

We popped in for a quick dip in the pool and hot tub. It is smaller than Celtic Manor Resort but still has Sauna, Hot Tub and Steam Room as well as the pool and was clean and tidy.

Overall we loved the stay there and would definitely go back. I still want to stay at the main resort so think we'll do that next time. They do great deals on stays that include dinner and breakfast so I'd recommend signing up to their offers. We stayed on a Friday as it was cheaper and I'd definitely do it again. It was nice to finish work head there and just chill.

Have you stayed at the Celtic Manor?

Life Lately

Hey All

Today is actually my birthday, I spent yesterday with L we went to Lou Lou's vintage fair then off for food and drinks with some other friends which was awesome. It feels like ages since I've done a life lately post. I used to love doing these but with my blogging being a little more sporadic lately I always want to share some products I've been loving when I've got the time to post but thought today I'd share some things I've been up too.

A few weeks back I headed to London with my family to watch my super talented friend in Mamma Mia as Sky. I'd seen it with friends but my parents wanted to see it. He makes me so proud. My parents and I stayed in Camden, it was my first trip to Camden and I absolutely loved it. The vibe there is amazing and I fell in love with Camden market. He's in wicked soon so we'll be back to see that.

I've been loving my Miss patisserie baths to relax in. L reviewed this amazing one here.

C came back from a work trip in June but was only home for 3 weeks before jetting back to Saudi for the next four so we treated ourselves to a night at Coldra Court. We loved it there and was great to have us time. Even though we live together it's nice to have nights away.

It's also been my niece's birthday recently so as tradition goes I made her birthday cake. I'm so glad I finally got to make a princess one. It ended up being way too rushed so didn't turn out totally how I wanted as my dad decided as I woke up he would like me to cook a roast dinner too, so queue mad panic of cooking full roast and decorating this,

L and I headed off to glastonbury for the second time and took C and one of my friends from back home with us. We definitely felt more tired this time and the mud was even worse than last time but it was absolutely amazing!!!!L and I were loving the glitter and bindis this year. I posted some of my festival hair styles and tips here.

C and I are trying to make our house a home and making a feature wall of our photos on the stair case. It's so almost finished now and I'm loving it.

As C jetted off with work before my birthday we celebrated early and headed to Chapel 1877 in Cardiff. I've wanted to go and sit in the confessionals for ages and we managed to get one. I was so excited and we had an awesome meal and loved it there.

So that's what I've been up to lately. This year is definitely whizzing by. I've been busy organising holidays and things at the moment too. I'll be doing some more travel posts soon too which are probably some of my favourites lately.

Travel: Absalon Hotel - Copenhagen Review

Hey All

For New Years Eve this year me and C decided we weren't going to spend it in the UK after finding decent deals to go to Europe. After some research we decided to stay in the Absalon Hotel (we booked ours through Expedia as it gives discount when booking flights and hotel, here are some photos from the expedia.)

It was really reasonably priced for the stay so we booked for the 3 nights in a standard double room. There was the cheaper option of a small room but we decided to pay the extra. In the end the small would have been ok as we actually didn't spend much time in it.

Here is our bedroom. It was of a decent size, looked clean, modern decoration and very warm. I always worry in cold countries I'd be cold but the rooms were a decent size. The only few negatives were there was only really one usable pillow. The other was like a sofa cushion and there isn't tea and coffee making facilities. I love a cuppa first thing in the morning but there is a little cafe near by. We decided not to have breakfast in the hotel so we could try out different places.

On check in we were greated by very friendly and helpful staff, they were full of local knowledge and willing to book us into different restaurants and give up recommendations! Every floor seemed to be decorated in different colours and looked great.

There was a bar in the hotel where we had a few drinks. There was seating by the bar or more sofas and quiet area where you can see me above. The drinks were a reasonable price and not much higher then what you get in other bars. We enjoyed having a drink before bed here or before we went out for the evening.

One of the best things about Absalon Hotel is the location, it's literally 5 minutes from the main train station (which brings you in from the airport) and a short walk to the centre of Copenhagen.

We loved it in Copenhagen and would recommend the Absalon to any friends travelling to Copenhagen.

I definitely want to go away again next year for NYE. Have you spent NYE in another country?
