The Greyhound Inn, Letcombe Regis

As you know I travel with work so I stay in many hotels, and hotels can be memorable for many reasons. I've stayed in some pretty ugly ones but I try to forget those...when you stay somewhere good it makes it all the more memorable.

Cue my recent stay in The Greyhound Inn, in Letcombe Regis. I don't think I have ever written a hotel review so be nice! I just couldn't resist but share some pictures from my stay, so grab a cuppa and see why I decided to share them this time.

On arrival to the pub I was starving, I'd been awake since 4.30am, had a long drive in traffic and a full day of training had been given so I was looking forward to a good meal and a comfy bed.

I was given the menu and it had a great variety. I've been sticking with a mostly veggie diet recently like M but have been eating fish as well, so I chose the plaice with mash, veg and a sauce. I didn't really know what to expect with so many ingredients but they all sounded good!

The food was outstanding, cooked to perfection and displayed perfectly.

The plaice pretty much fell apart and the mash was perfect, I didn't know what the cider and mussel sauce would taste like but it was all perfect. I'd order this again!

Knowing this was good, I had to order dessert,

Did you stop reading as soon as you read gin marinated? So did I.

I ordered this and it was OUTSTANDING. I didn't want it to end.

After this I went to my room and found it was super cute - the bed was tucked into a corner with so many pillows, the room generally was full of comforts and included a cute Roberts radio and homemade shortbread. It was so tasty!

The bathroom was beautiful, I'm always a fan of a beautiful bathroom as mine at my house is falling apart! The tiles are perfect, the colour scheme is spot on and the shower was amazing!! The massive shower head was the best shower I've ever had, I stayed under the boiling water for much longer than necessary because it was so good.

Not only that but the toiletries were from a cruelty free natural brand with scents that were perfect combinations. I used a lot whilst I was there!

My view from the room was so pretty too. Its my dream to own a house that looks like this, the bricks, the doors, it's gorgeous!

On my second night I went for the specials menu, classic fish and chips with mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce. It was really good (even after the lady at the table next to me gave me a disgusted look, cheers love, hope you liked your salad....)

Breakfast was also great. There was a buffet with cereals, pastries, homemade jams and marmalades and juices. You could also order a variety of cooked breakfasts, eggs, smoked salmon and toast on homemade bread.

All the food was amazing and over my 3 day stay I sampled as much of it as I could. Everything was great, the room was extremely comfortable and clean, the water was hot and the service was impeccable. I've never stayed anywhere like it and I had to share!

So if you are anywhere near Letcombe Regis in future, I would 100% recommend staying here.

Have you stayed in any hotels that you had to share with others? What do you use to find hotels? I'm always looking for reliable websites to search through!
