Review: Origins Eye Doctor

I mentioned a while ago (here) that I've been having a few problems with my eyes, particularly with wearing lenses and them generally watering and running down my face and ruining my make up.

My optician told me it could be to do with allergies but as it was December when this started it was unlikely, so ever since I've been wearing my glasses as much as possible and putting drops in so they don't get too dry.

(I've been told it was down to me wearing my lenses for a ridiculous amount of hours per day whilst trying to do a full time Masters and full time job, listen to what they say when they remind you to have a 'contacts free day. because I'm paying for it now!)

Because of this I've been taking care of my eyes a lot more than I used to, I know everyone wants to look good and have amazing skin but you only get one pair of eyes so this has been priority numero uno for me for a while!

After buying the Origins No Puffery Eye Gel and absolutely loving it, I went back for another purchase, this time their Eye Doctor eye cream:

Again, I love the packaging, so natural in colour and design with the tree on it. I'm head over heels for this brand ha!

Their website claims:

When fragile skin around eyes shows crinkly dry lines and other unsightly flaws, a twice-daily dose of botanicals are just what the "Doctor" ordered to help them disappear. Nature's highly recommended caretakers, including cooling Cucumber, soothing Rosemary and energizing Ginseng, offer rapid, visible relief. They act firmly to help counter crow's feet, de-pouf puffs and fade dark shadows from sight to make skin around eyes look and feel all better. And Green Tea Extract helps fight off free radical damage. Shows perfect bedside manners, night or day, under makeup or alone.
Ophthalmologist tested.

As soon as I tried this in store I knew I wanted it, along with half of the counter in all fairness.
But at the time of buying the No Puffery eye gel I could only afford one product and that one felt so amazing on my tired eyes.

Eye Doctor is a white cream that looks and feels quite thick but sinks into the skin around your eye very easily.
Before I started using this I had some fine lines around my eyes which I'm now assuming were dehydration lines as they'e mostly gone!

I love the colour of the pot, it does remind me of the action that the cream and gel together give, a cooling and relaxing sensation for the eyes!

This for me was worth every penny, it costs £25 which is expensive to me for an eye cream.
However I recently read that if you're willing to spend more on a handbag or pair of shoes that you'll only wear a couple of times than you would on your face, then you've got your priorities wrong.

I certainly live by this rule now, I will definitely be spending more on my skincare seeing as it's something I will live with my whole life and my face will be on show every day!

The pot which was bought back in April has barely anything used out of it, probably 1/6 maybe less?
So it's definitely worth the money as I've used it once or twice a day every day ever since I bought it.

Origins, I'm not afraid to say it, but I love you!

One of my favourite things about Origins, (aside from their amazing products and lack of chemicals) is their service and the freebies.
Everybody loves freebies, but these rate like no other!

In my local Boots the Origins counter is next to Clinique, hence the pots.
At the time of buying Eye Doctor I was debating between buying it or GinZing, so the lady gave me a small pot of GinZing to take with me which was amazing!

The pot is huge (for a freebie) and will last me a good few weeks which is perfect.
I will ultimately buy this as I have loved using it and it also really works, but for now this freebie is covering all my needs.

Secondly she also gave me a sample of their new BB cream (it was brand new out that week that she gave it to me) which I have tried a number of times and took on the plane with me as it's such a small pot it can be taken in your hand luggage.

I've never used a BB cream before so this was a great chance to try one out, particularly a good quality one.
As my skin gets better I feel using products like BB creams will be more feasible but at the moment I love my foundations too much.

I may give this a proper review but need to test it out a little longer first!

So there you have it, another lovely product with lovely testers and a happy customer!
When me and M walked through Boots on my last weekend at home, another assistant from Origins sprayed us with this AMAZING fragrance and I was smelling my arm all day haha.
Was tempted to buy it but I'm very poor at the moment and for £19 I'm not sure I could justify it!

Have you tried anything from Origins? What do you use to take care of your eyes?
