Lipstick Monday's MAC Angel

I've decided to start posting my favourite and most used lipsticks.Until recently I didn't wear lipstick much but now I wearing it everyday so I like to see swatches of lipsticks and the how they come out on lips, so I thought I'd share my lipstick collection with you all.

Starting with a favourite of the bloggers and one I keep grabbing at the moment. Mac Angel

It's a gorgeous creamy pink shade, it's perfect for a neutral everyday lip. MAC lipsticks smell amazing too. They retail for 13.50 each. If you keep your MAC empties, once you get 6 you can get a free lipstick.

Such a pretty shade. It lasts a few hours, I always use my Lush lip scrub in the mornings to make sure my lips are smooth. Sorry for the blurry lip photo, my phone won't focus on them.

The swatch on the hand looks quite sheer but as with MAC lipsticks the colour has a good pigmentation. I have naturally pinky red lips and this makes them a pretty nude shade.

Do you own MAC angel? Do you like lipstick posts? I love finding new shades.

Review: MAC Pro LongWear

Another foundation review today for you guys, as I'm sure you'll have noticed by now from the foundation reviews we have both been hunting for the perfect foundation for sometime now. I didn't mind if it was high end or high street. I just wanted something that would actually last all day and not slip off and go too shiny.

Introducing MAC Pro LongWear (my MAC Haul from that day can be found here) I picked up this foundation to try.

After a chat with the make up artist we decided this would be the best one to try. She colour matched me and applied it all for me! I was instantly sold. It looked flawless on, not caked on but a good coverage to it. I loved how she applied so much I had to buy the brush she used too. This is 168, the large angled contour brush, more used for blush and contouring cheeks but it makes it brilliant foundation brush too. This is my first MAC brush and although they are expensive (£26.00) I'm really impressed with the quality and the finish of my foundation this gives. I find I can go about 4 days before it clogs up to which is great (I don't have time to wash my brushes more than once a week).

Onto the foundation.....

It comes in a glass bottle (I like foundation in glass bottles, not ideal I guess if you travel but it feels more luxurious to me), I like the classic black lid and the fact it's a pump. The lid and pump are built in one, another feature I like as I lose lids easily. You just twist the top to use and then twist it back after to make sure it doesn't accidentally come out in your bag. I find I need about two pumps for my face and that will last me all day.

As you can see it's a nice liquid consistency not to thick not running off my arm. I've used this arm so my mole can be used as a reference to the after picture to see the coverage.

Here it is all buffed in. I love this as it's not a matte foundation. Even though I have oily skin I wanted something that would last without a matte finish. This does the job. It looks really natural on and doesn't feel too heavy on the skin.

It retails at £22.50 and while it's not the cheapest I still think it's affordable. I can't wait to try studio fix and matchmaker to see how the compare to this.

I'm impressed.

Have you tried MAC foundations? Which one do you use?

I have bought Studio Fix Powder many times, but never bought a foundation from Mac for some unknown reason. I always used a cheapy from Rimmel and the like and then put my Studio Fix powder over the top to set it. It was easily transportable in my hand bag for touch ups during the day too which is always a must.

Oh if only my skin played so nicely now!

Nowadays my skin feels more oily than it did when I was an actual teenager, no idea why this is but it usually ends up with my foundation that was pretty perfect in the morning sliding across my face into patches and settling in all the nooks and crannies making me look like I have wrinkles.
(My skin isn't 100% line free and they seem to be appearing suddenly but I am only 24 so they shouldn't be showing!)

This foundation however delivered all of the things it promised, it applied like a dream with a medium coverage, had a normal finish (not too matte and not too dewy) and lasted the longest a foundation has ever lasted, I was instantly sold!

As you know we've both been on the quest for the perfect foundation and Mac seems to be holding its place in the top spot for now, I've recently bought their skin base primer as well to see how this fares in the test for longevity.

Th only unfortunate thing that I can think of to say about this foundation is the colour difference between NW20 and NW25.
My skin is very very slightly darker than M's so I was colour matched to a NW25.
But as the weeks have gone by since our purchases it seems that NW25 is too dark for my skin and I could do with a lighter shade, however NW20 washes me out.

At this point in time I have little money and so I'll be applying tan to my face so that I can wear it, and I'm not too bothered as the results are 100% worth it, just as an honest review I felt it should be mentioned!

Also, contains SPF 10! A foundation with SPF, woo! This is always an added bonus :)

Clothes Haul!

A different kind of post for you today!

I had a bit of money for my birthday a few weeks ago...so of course I went on a shopping spree!

It was so much fun, I haven't shopped for clothes since before Christmas as I quit my job so this was LUSH.

Here's what I bought...

This dress is amazing! Was so pleased with this find.
It's a gorgeous t-shirt material dress from Miss Selfridge, it has a drape style front and the back has a section cut out.
I love the bright colour (my wardrobe is very black and grey...) and it can be dressed up or down for most occasions.

I'd seen a few of these shirts around and wanted to try them out, ended up buying a black and a cream shirt as they're so comfy, will go with anything for any occasion and were pretty reasonable from New Look!

Also bought an Aztec print vest to wear too, my friend has a few of these and always looks lush so I thought I'd nab myself one too :)

We've just had a Gilly Hicks open up by us, and admittedly I had no idea what it was aside from a spin off of Hollister.
However I was pleasantly surprised with what they had, I love underwear shopping and the bright colours dazzled me!

This style is my favourite kind for knickers, and at the moment they've got 3 pairs for £15, they're originally £8 each so this is an amazing bargain!
The colour and style in the range is amazing and I will be sure to be sneaking back for some more when my mum isn't keeping an eye on me ha!

These shorts are from Dorothy Perkins, they're a summer staple I think!
There's lots of colours of these too, and as they're a touch longer they can be worn in the day time too without flashing too much leg.

This was a splurge...I'd been planning on buying a bag for ages but couldn't find one that I liked.
I knew I wanted either dove grey or a nude colour so it would go with a lot of things, but nothing took my fancy.
Cue a dash to H&M for some vests and this beauty was right there!

It's the perfect size for holding my daily essentials in and has some room for some extra items in case I go shopping, saving me from the elusive lost shopper bag problem that frequently happens now you have to pay for bags in Wales!

Lastly I found these two bold beauties in H&M also.
The red shirt is the same style as the black and cream ones from New Look above, I was looking for a coral/orange one but am yet to find anything bright enough for my tastes! The red one looks lush though.
The blue dress was also a last minute buy, but with the elasticated waist and longer skirt it can be worn throughout the summer with leggings or without and can be dressed up or down.

I am SUPER happy with my purchases, think they're all so wearable and all were affordable too.

What do you think? Do you like the bright colours? Do you like the shirt style tops for summer?

NOTD - Brook Street

I'm into using bold and bright colours at the moment now that the sun is starting to shine woohoo!

This colour has barely left my hands recently.

This is Nails Inc's Brook Street:

I've had it a little while, maybe a few years and I still love it as much as I did when I bought it!

The bottle is probably half way through, which as we all know is a rare occurrence!

The pictures are taken with and without flash to give you an idea of the colour, its a very pinky coral which to be perfectly honest would go with ANYTHING, work, pub trips, Saturday nights out and holidays!

As with all Nail's Inc colours it goes on like a dream in 2 coats and lasts a good few days without chipping.

You can tell from my bottle that it gets it's fair share of usage.

I'm not sure if this colour is still available as I haven't checked, but if it is I would 100% recommend it which is why I decided to post about it!

I believe it would also suit someone of any skin tone, I'm super pale and when I fake tan it looks just as good, and bright colours like this are made for darker skin tones too!

It's clearly a must have buy for anyone!

(I've just checked this out and it is still available and costs £11, Go buy it! You will never look back!)

Are you a fan of these kind of colours?? Do you have anything similar for when this one runs out?
