Wish List: September 2016

Hello there!

I've been writing a wishlist for weeks now and for some reason just haven't got around to getting it posted...in this time it has obviously grown but at least the items on it have a bit of variety.

The last year of house owning has ruined most shopping trips, planned or otherwise so writing a wishlist has been quite therapeutic. If I still want it after 6 months I obviously really want it...right??

Take a look and see if they match your wishlist items too!

I keep seeing these beautiful gym leggings everywhere. As I'm tall I can struggle to find leggings that are long enough and also sit on my waist properly, but I'm still on the endless search for a long black pair with some sexy mesh panels in - just because I'm sweating doesn't mean I don't want to look good!
I've seen some from Active in Style, the top ones are from Zanna Van Dijk's range and cost £85, the second are the Inda leggings from Daquini and cost £110.

Travel:

Image from Lonely Planet website

Forever dreaming of a paradise island getaway my latest focus has been pinning pictures from the beautiful island of Bali. Those white sands, turquoise waterfalls and 'once in a lifetime' sunsets are on my dream list. Keeping all my fingers toes and everything else crossed that one day I can actually go on holiday!

Palettes:
I mean it was extremely difficult to choose one palette from Sleek owing to their absolute corker of a collection right now (rivalled by another fave - Make Up Revolution, see below) but this highlighter palette is just all of the Pinterest/blogger/makeup goals right now.Amazing casing, flattering colour choices and apparently awesome blend-ability.

All of this for £9.99?? Get me on the delivery list pronto!

Lipstick:
Image from UD website
Long have I lusted after the Urban Decay lipsticks but after their recent revamp and 120 shade uber collection I perve on them all the time.
I am still looking for the perfect red, this time a classic blue toned red. I either seem to repurchase orangey ones, or the super dark vampy ones but I always get it wrong!

F-Bomb looks the perfect shade, and is 100% on my wishlist

Browse them all by selecting this link, each comes in at a perfectly reasonable £15.

Chanel Chance:

Another dream - owning a Chanel perfume!

Chance is my favourite and I had another whiff of it recently, I still love it. At £68 for 50ml however I definitely need to save or wait for a rich man.

One day!

MakeUp Revolution:
Last but certainly not least is Make Up Revolution.

There are so many things I want....NEED to pick up from this brand and knowing they are affordable means I actually can. I'm waiting for some free time to go in store and browse myself as that's always the best part, but these rose gold brushes are high on the priority list

Five brushes for £34.95 sounds pretty reasonable to me and they are beautiful! So instagrammable!

What's on your wishlist at the moment??

Hopefully I can get some of these soon but it's always nice to dream!

Empties 2

It's been a while since I've done an empties post. I really shouldn't have left it so long as I've actually used up quite a bit lately. You can read my first post here. I've been really trying hard to use things up and work my way through my stash.

Here's what I've used up over the past two months. As you can see it's quite a stash!!

Untitled

First up is hand creams.

Untitled

I use quite a lot of these. I have quite dry hands and my job means I wash my hands a lot!! The Avon African Shea Butter hand and cuticle cream is my favourite of all time I think. It sinks into the skin easily and quickly and smells amazing! Will definitely repurchase! The Balance Me Super Moisturising Hand Cream which I think I got in a She Said Beauty box I just didn't get on with. It was a super thick cream but left my hands feeling so greasy!! I used it at night as after using it I just didn't want to touch anything. Wouldn't repurchase.

Deodorant and Dry Shampoo

Untitled

Normally I wouldn't include deodorant! Let's face it it would be boring to see these in empties every time but I have this time, as at the moment I seem to be seeing lots of adverts for the compressed ones. so I thought seen as they are meant to be better for the environment and all that I'd give them a try! For me they ran out VERY quickly! Definitely wouldn't buy again. Batiste Dry Shampoo Tropical Love batiste, wouldn't use anything else. Love the fragrance (see my save, spend, splurge on Dry Shampoo here) have got another big bottle of it already!!

Bath and Body

Untitled

Philosophy Peppermint Bark Shower Gel I love the smell of this, l gave me this as she didn't like it. I thought it smelt like mint chocolate!! Yum. Love the texture of this too. Will be on the look out for it at christmas time! Next Spa Sugar Body Scrub I loved this!! The texture was amazing, thick and gloopy in a good way and a great but not too harsh scrub! Can't seem to find it in shops at the moment which is a bit disappointing as I love it. Lee Stafford For Hair That Doesn't Grow Past A Certain Length Treatment I got into the habit of using this stuff about two years ago and couldn't get out of it. It always left my hair feeling lovely and soft and in great condition. I do really like it and I think it helps hair grow by improving the condition. Don't expect long flowing locks though. I do like it and have another one I'm currently using. Soap and Glory Calm One Calm All I love this bubble bath, gentle smell that's not over powering and produces a nice amount of bubbles. Have another waiting in the wings thanks to a donation from L.

Skin Care

Untitled

Boots Cleansing Wipes Pretty sure these featured last time! Great product, does the job and stay reasonably moist, I prefer these to baby wipes I find they don't tug as much. Lush Whip Stick Although it's a pot lip balm I do love this for night time. Great smell and leaves lips nice and soft, I've already picked up another of these. Carmex Cherry Lipbalm I'd totally forgot about Carmex until I found this and a few other lipbalms lurking half finished. Carmex is one of my favourites for sore lips and love the cherry scent. Will pick up the tube version next time. No7 Eye Make Up Remover My all time favourite eye make up remover, I always pick it up when it's on offer and I'm never without it. Removes make up easily without tugging and doesn't leave the eyes too greasy. (Read my save, spend, splurge on Eye Make Up Removers here) Clarins  Eye Make Up Remover I didn't get on with this at all, I just found it didn't remove my make up very well. Lancome Hydra Zen I loved this cream, light on the skin, sunk in well and left my skin feeling soft and well moisturised. Once I've used up some of my stash I'm going to be looking into this. Clinique 7 Day Scrub  for me this just felt too much of a harsh scrub. The particles were so big I'm just not a fan.

Mascaras

Untitled

I'm a mascara addict. I have a huge amount of them and usually use more than one type on my lashes. Benefit Bad Gal I think I got this in a magazine one time. The brush is huge!! Which I liked, it was great for volumising the lashes and even though it was a big brush it didn't get all over my face. Avon SuperMagnify won't talk about this one too much as it's being discontinued! I love it though, I have two back ups! Avon Curlious Diamonds I'm not sure this is still sold but their normal curl one is! I did quite like this mascara but a curling mascara isn't what I really go for. Maybelline Colossal Volume This is probably still my favourite mascara of all time, it's amazing, doesn't dry out and gives amazing results!!

Face Products

Untitled

Collection Fix Me Up Spray I like this product but when you work it out on a price per ml basis the Urban Decay setting sprays are actually better value, It's a great purse size product though. Rimmel Clear Complexion This is an alright product, nothing amazing so wouldn't repurchase, for a cheap powder I prefer my Natural Collection loose powder. FCUK Brush This was in one of those sets you get from boots, I love the rest of the brushes in the set but this one is just rough and hard so I've decided to just throw it out. Rimmel Recover I quite like this as a light coverage foundation, it's a little bit rough in texture but does look great when applied, hard to find now but I did spot it on fragrance direct! Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation this was a generous sample I got from the counter. I really enjoyed this and think when I have some money and have used some foundations up I'll repurchase.

Random Make Up

Untitled

Carmex Moisture Plus I had forgotten how much I loved these until recently, they are like the original of Revlon Lip Butters but sheerer. They provide great moisture and a wash of colour, will definitely pick more up! Bourjois Eyeshadow Beige Rose This is a great everyday base colour, a slight shimmer and easy to blend. Lastly Avon Perfect Wear Everlasting Eyeshadow I love the forumlation of these, a slight cream to powder formulation that's quite wet. It has a sponge type lip gloss applicator. I'm on the look out for more of these!!

So that's my latest stash of empties! The spending ban definitely helped me!!

NOTD: Chanel Couture Fall 2012

Day 10!

I originally saw this design courtesy of Polish you Pretty found here, they have a great website with nail tutorials and ideas and I browse through them endlessly wishing I had the time, patience and skill to try them out!

What intrigued me about this design was its simplicity and the ability to change the colours to suit ANY occasion and still have your manicure looking the business.

Interestingly, this is Chanel's first every nail art and I'm so glad they stuck to what they know with a simple design!

I used Model's Own Champagne for the base coat.
Normally I use 2 coats of this but as it was underneath I felt that one coat was enough, though ideally I would still use two to get the full effect of the metallic shine!

Then I used the orange Nails Inc colour that came with In Style a few months ago (maybe last year?!)
It was my first ever orange nail colour and I haven't looked back, in fact I may even use this one up one day I love it that much!

It's a really easy simple design to do that you can easily swap and change colours, effects etc for whatever occasion.
I'm looking forward to trying this with a neon pink underneath a super shiny black top coat, and also you can experiment using a matte top coat for sneaky bit of shine at the base!

It's currently my favourite nail design!

What do you think about Chanel's new foray into the nail art world? What colours would you pick?

Review: Chanel Perfection Lumiere

I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect foundation. I want one that lasts most of the day (I’d say all day but for someone with oily/combination skin this is hard) I prefer a dewy finish but I think I need more of a matte finish to get the lasting power. My final criteria it needs is a medium finish, preferably buildable for when I have breakouts. I’m also extremely pale adding another challenge to the hunt. If you have any suggestions for foundations that you think would be good please let me know. I’m not too worried about price, as long as I like it.

I’d heard such good things about Chanel perfection lumiere I couldn’t wait to try it. I popped down to my local boots to get a sample. After chatting to the lady on the counter I said I was on the hunt for the perfect foundation and that I had combination skin and had heard such good things about perfection lumiere. She agreed it would be best for my skin type so checked what colour I’d be. The lightest in their range 110 buff (no surprise there).  She dispensed a generous amount into a sample pot (enough for 5 days, I love this as I feel it gives you a real chance to see if the foundation is for you, and if you are about to spend £36 on a foundation I think it’s necessary).

What a Brilliant sample size. I hope I can get more like this.

Perfume

I don't know about you, but I absolutely LOVE spritzing on my favourite perfume before I walk out the door.

I'm also pretty sure that most girls have a favourite perfume, and then one or more other perfumes as a back up, for a change etc etc!
Why have one all the time when you can shake things up a bit right?! Variety is the spice of life after all...

Personally I am an absolutely massively monumental fan of Jean Paul Gaultier's Madame.

It's expensive yes, but personally I believe it's worth every little penny.

Firstly let's look at it...
