First Look: Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft Palette

Hey all!

We've got a quick first look post for you today that we have been super excited about!

A few months ago (way back in February!) we ordered the Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft palette - we're HUGE Harry Potter fans and heard about this as soon as it was designed, so we just knew we had to get it. Especially after seeing all of the colours and swatches on their instagram account, so we couldn't let it pass us by!

If you haven't heard of Storybook Cosmetics then where have you been?! The business is owned by 3 triplets in the U.S.A., all of whom love Harry Potter and the general fandoms that exist (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Disney....etc etc). They seem like fun people to be around and you can see their enthusiasm for their products! I think there are actually 6 sisters in total so you can imagine the make up wars they must have had over borrowing and sharing their purchases! They have a fair few ideas in the pipeline so we look forward to seeing what they release next.

We will of course be doing a full post very soon but whilst we swatch and test out the colours, pigmentation and wearability we wanted to share some of our initial thoughts.

First off, the packaging it came in was pretty impressive. Buying from America is always a risk and can come with lots of excess charges due to customs etc but this was taken care of in the postage and packaging charges. The box was light blue and has the S emblem so this was a nice thought - I'm 100% keeping mine for storage purposes!

The palette was packaged up really well, within the bag but also within a sleeve of protective plastic and surrounded by whatever you call the massive air bags - the girls did a great job with this as I was worried it would get here and be a bashed or the product inside would be dust!

I absolutely LOVE the tissue paper inside it, I've been using it for all the photos but its so pretty. There's also a bookmark in it with the logo, contact details and also a message from the triplets themselves which was a nice touch. I can imagine how much it means to them for it to do well!

However just look at the palette itself, its BEAUTIFUL!! This was taken in my car at the post office because I was too excited to wait!

The details they have put into this is crazy and it feels really sturdy. The cover has a very satisfying click with the magnet and although the bulk of the palette is empty it has a good weight to it so it doesn't feel flimsy. Time will tell to see how this will fare being battered around in my make up bag - although maybe it will have to be a rare thing until they bring out the pans individually as they have suggested before!

What do you think of the palette? What do you think of the colour range and general design?

Have you heard of Storybook Cosmetics before and seen the other product they offer?

I love that it looks like a book - this appeals to me greatly and I might even store mine on my bookshelf with my other Harry Potter books to keep it safe!

Let us know what you think of it - we'll be doing a full review soon and if you check out our Instagram you can see some swatches already!
