Morphe Brushes 25B Bronzed Mocha Palette

Hi all!

We recently wrote about the Morphe 25A Copper Spice palette (you can read it by selecting this link Here) and now we have our review on the 25B Bronzed Mocha palette.

We couldn't resist buying both of these, we only saw one instagram post on the Morphe account to know we absolutely both needed to buy both of the palettes.

Just like the 25A palette, the 25B also contains 25 eyeshadows at 1" square in a square shaped palette. The palette has a clear perspex lid with a black plastic base.

The eyeshadows are a range of matte and shimmer finishes in warm and cool toned colours with some beautiful wine coloured shades.

Here's a close up of the colours:

So how do they swatch?

The first row is the lightest of all shades, and these were difficult to show up on my pale skin. The lightest two of all the shades blend straight in on me and personally I will likely only use these as a base as they just don't show up! But if you aren't a milk bottle at all times like me these will probably be great.

The final three are great colours and I will be using them for blending shades - I didn't realise how useful these are until recently! I've been watching some YouTube videos for extra tips!

The second row contains a number of matte browns, these range from cooler taupes to warmer peach and red/brown shades. Again, perfect base colours for every day wear and I've been getting a lot of use out of these. If I'm in too much of a rush to think about colours, I put one of these over my eyelid with a darker shade on the outer corners for a quick look!

The third row contains the majority of the shimmers and these are gorgeous. They are so pigmented and wearable and again, so easy to apply. They vary around nude shades so can be worn pretty much any time, I've worn them alone for a quick day look with a winged liner and it was a simple but pretty effect.

The fourth row contains some further matte shades and two shimmers (second one in and the last). These matte shades create further depth and I've been using these on the outer corners of my eyes. The first shimmer is a great wearable shade, and although I like the final shimmer it isn't quite what I thought it would be. It seems to be a bit hit and miss and the pigmentation and application aren't as good as the others.

The fifth and final row contains the darker shades in the palette. These are a mixture of deeper and darker browns including a black/brown and also a burgundy colour.

I really like this burgundy colour and these shades are what I would expect to see in the palette. Unfortunately there are a lot of matte brown shades that aren't all necessary as they aren't different enough.

When we saw the palettes on the Morphe instagram account we were very excited - they looked perfect! Here are some screenshots of the photos we saw:

The Copper Spice palette is true to colour in these images, but the Bronzed Mocha one was disappointing.

In the instagram pictures the colours looked like they had a much bigger variation than they actually do and some of the shades are not as red/purple as they appear. Initially when we got them we were very disappointed and thought we were unlikely to buy from Morphe again.

After a few weeks of use I can say that I do use this palette quite a lot, the shades are very wearable for every day wear and I reach for it a lot. The variation of the matte shades in the second row mean I don't need to think too hard in the morning and switch around them all, they also blend so easily it isn't difficult to change your mind either!

The only other thing I can think of that I would change about this palette is the addition of a lighter shade than my own skin tone so that it would show up (and that's being picky really!)

Have you tried the 25B Bronzed Mocha palette? What were your thoughts?

Have you tried the Copper Spice 25A palette too? Which is your favourite?

The Bronzed Mocha palette costs $17.99 plus shipping and taxes from the US, and is currently back in stock for a limited time on the Morphe website.

Morphe Bronzed Mocha Palette

Hey All

As L has mentioned on originally receiving this palette I was so disappointed. As I opened them I immediately text L. The instagram photos had appeared so much brighter on red tones in the bottom two rows and even photographing them they appear slightly more red than they are. I swatched and as it wasn't the tones I expected I didn't immediately reach for it.

After I started using it even though the colours weren't as I expected I was totally won over. The quality and blendability is amazing and they are quite affordable.. (minus annoying custom charges!)

As with the 25A palette this one has the amazing glitter shades. I do find the top row are lighter too which works better for me as it means I can use as a whole palette and not need additional shades.

The second row is full of amazing crease colours and I  keep reaching for it. As well as the burgundy shade that had initially disappointed so much. I love red tones and ever since I had Mac Cranberry I love red smokey eyes!

Here you can see some of the colours in action. The shades all blend together easily to create flawless looks. Even though the colours weren't what I initially expected I still love this palette!

Have you tried either of them?
