NOTD: Sally Hansen Salon Manicure 540 Frutti Petutie

Morning lovelies!

I hope you're not feeling too hungover today, I didn't go out last night so I'm feeling pretty fresh for once!
I'm feeling productive so I'm having a clear out of all my clothes and shoes. I used to eBay a lot of clothes but eventually it was so time consuming and so many restrictions were placed on my account that it's so not worth it anymore.
So instead I'm just donating it all to charity to clear out a load of crap from my room and items that I just don't want or need any more.

That aside I've been sporting some bright pinks on my nails recently due to the summer months and small amount of good weather that we've had.
Pink always makes me feel happier!

I picked up this Sally Hansen polish from America a little while ago, I've been using and meaning to post for a while but haven't got round to it.

This is a beautiful bright pink shade called Frutti Petutie, shade number 540.

The photos below shows 2 coats of the polish and its so bright and shiny I absolutely love it!

Untitled

Isn't it gorgeous?!
These photos were taken on my phone so they're not the best and I hadn't cleaned them up at this point but you can see how easy it is to apply.
It's really smooth and I really liked the brush that was in the bottle.
It's quite large which meant I could apply the polish with one smooth movement which I find is always better.

From the few Sally Hansen polishes I've used, I found that they're great quality and don't chip as easily as other polishes.

Do you have any colour suggestions from the range? I've heard their glitter ranges are really good too!

Life Update

I have been a rather busy girl lately, so I thought a life update was in order.

I've had one of the best summers of my life so far, it's been non stop and I 100% would do it all over again if I could!
Its included weddings, hen weekends, shopping trips, wild nights out at mansions (ooh errr!) and beach trips.
So I thought I'd share a few snaps whilst having a cup of tea and catching up on Geordie Shore.

Last weekend was a bit of a crazy one, me and M decided we were going to enjoy the bank holiday delights and planned on going out both Saturday and Sunday.

My motto personally is 'go hard or go home'. It normally serves me well but dear god it did not this time.
We started off the night all glammed up and went for the LBD and heels look:

We were both pretty broke as we hadn't been paid yet, so I dragged out the red absinthe that my brother had brought back from a holiday last year.
With it being 80% we both had 1 shot of it and hoped for the best, a decent buzz but no being sick or anything.

Untitled

All I can say is this was my face for a good hour after the shot:

A fireball of aniseed is not what I find enjoyable and next time I'm broke I will be shotting it with something strong tasting to take it away! Bleeeeurrrgh!

Needless to say as this was the start of the night we had a bit of a mental one. We went to a mansion party and it was absolutely EPIC!
It slept 20 people so as you can imagine it was huge, and it had an indoor pool, hot tub, pool table, cinema and arcade games room amongst others which was amazing. We spent hours opening the doors and finding our way around which was so much fun!

The day after we weren't much use to anyone and after a huge dominos order we ended up in the pub enjoying a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake before turning in, a second night was definitely not on the cards!

Untitled

The day after I went to meet my family at our caravan for a day at the beach and some jetskiing.
I squeezed myself into my wetsuit and legged it onto the beach.
I love spending days doing this and I even managed to get a slight tan on my shoulders which was awesome.

Afterwards we got back for a bbq and had a massive steak which was LUSH

Untitled

I've spent all week recovering from that weekend and in work I've been a complete ZOMBIE!
I'm hoping this weekend I'll be able to recover and catch up on my sleep.

My biggest news is that I have actually bought myself a new car today!
It's my first one that's actually mine, I've always shared my mums car (which was lovely of her).

The past few months since I got my new job she's lent it to me completely just so I can get back and forth to work and save up a bit more for my own, but with a time limit!
So I finally found one and went and picked it up today, I was so excited!

Untitled

As my first car it's definitely my baby and I'm so grateful to my parents for lending me the extra money I needed, hopefully I can pay them back before Christmas and all my debts will be cleared.
It's so beautiful and a its a gorgeous 'tornado red' which sounds just perfect to me!

What have you guys been up to lately? Have you been on the spend or save?

After these few weeks I'm glad to be having a quiet one and hopefully will be able to save a lot over the next few months.
Any tips on saving money and doing things for cheap??

Benefit's BrowZings

Hi ladies!

I've been having an absolutely crazy past few weeks and cannot wait for this weekend to chill out and catch up on some much needed sleep and relaxation.
To top it off work has been hectic with so many people being off on holiday and leaving me to do things which is stressful seeing as I have only been there 2 months.
I cannot wait for my own space and time again!

A staple of my current work make up bag is obviously a brow product, I'm a firm believer in defining brows for your face and not fighting your natural shape. I love big and beautiful brows and I wish mine were a bit Cara Delevigne, but unfortunately I'm out of luck.

Instead I use this very trusty kit from Benefit, which you will of course have heard about. I know i seem a bit behind the times but it took me a while to come around to a brow kit and I have no idea why!

121

122

This kit is a perfect compact set of products and tools to shape and define your brows on the go or at home to set yourself up for the day.

It contains a wax for shape, powder for setting, tweezers for shaping and two brushes to help use the powder and wax.

124

As with all Benefit products it contains a booklet with a lesson inside, which are usually pretty good but this one especially was helpful when using a brow kit.
The technique can take a bit of practice to get your brows just right, so they're not taking over your face but are neatly defined. It can be daunting and a bit off putting, but these lesson booklets are great.

126

127

The step by step guide as shown above is super helpful and typical of Benefit products.

129

I'm sure you'll agree with me, the packaging is perfect! Super cute and perfectly compact, it's contains everything you need. The black print on the outside is also pretty cool, I love all of their packaging but this is one of my favourites as it's so simple.

130

There are 3 colours, light, medium and deep.
I have almost black eyebrows and super pale skin, which has meant that it has been hard to find a brow kit that is the right colour for me.
My brows, although dark, are not the red tone that lots of brow kits seem to have in the darker shade which is quite frustrating, but when M gave me this one to try I was amazing that the light was a perfect shade!

131

M has informed that apparently Tanya Burr also uses the light colour, which just confirms everything really doesn't it!
I couldn't resist having a quick use before photographing so let's give me a quick slap on the wrist for that....

You can see the wax and powder in the photos and the tools that come with it:

143

I find this kit so easy to use i am annoyed at myself for not trying it before!
The photos below show my brow before and after using the kit (apologies for different lighting, my camera was having issues!)

133

You can see that without any product in them my brows are quite long but are patchy at the beginning and a bit straggly at the ends.
The wax allows me to create a more defined shape, and the powder fills in the patchy bits so they look more uniform.

140

I adore using the Brow Zings kit and I'm so grateful to M for giving me a spare one that she had.

It really has completely changed the way I do my brows and therefore my make up every day of my life!

Do you use Brow Zings? Have you picked a colour different to the one you thought you'd be?

NOTD Dandelion Nail Art

I've been missing doing nail art lately and after seeing a really cute design on Glossy boxes twitter page I decided to have a play around.

After a bit of googling (glossy box didn't credit the person who did the nails) I find the cute design was done by Mad Manis (blog here). She's got some great nail art designs on her blog so next time I need inspiring I'll be going back.

I love how simple and cute this design is (I need a steadier hand it would seem)

I really like the sky grey/blue shade used as a base but didn't have anything similar so mixed some. I started off with a base of OPI Dating a Royal (which is a colour I absolutely adore. I forgot to photo this so used an old photo)

Untitled

Next I put a layer of No7 grey skies on top.

Untitled

And finished with a coat of Avon Blue Water Lillies. This deepened the Blue Water Lillies coloured.

Untitled

For the desigin it's self I used my models own nail art pens. Disappointingly though my black pen has become blocked and doesn't work anymore so I has to use a cocktail stick which is why my black is a little messier than I wanted.

Untitled

I painted 3 nails with black sticks towards the tip of the nail. On top of the black sticks I then painted thin strips of white to look like the head of the dandelion.

Untitled

For the other nails I painted a few wishes on them to look like the dandelions had been blowing. I did paint my top coat too soon and smudge them a bit.

Untitled

I really like this design and really want to try it again and get it a bit neater like the brilliant original.

Are you a nail art fan? Is this something you'd try?

Love M
