Lipstick Monday's Avon Divine Wine

It's back to Monday again, but much more pleasant today knowing I also have tomorrow off as well. Hope you've all had a great bank holiday weekend so far. Today's lipstick started off my love of a darker lipstick. When I first ordered it my mum was wondering what I was doing thinking it would definitely not suit me. Here is Avon's Divine wine. It is from their ultra colour rich mega impact lipstick.

It's a well pigmented plum shade that can be worn dark or smudged for a softer look. The shape of the bullet it amazing. It's structured which makes it easier to apply to the lips due to the way it's shaped which is also helpful when it's a darker shade. I like the classic black and silver packaging.

It comes out on the lips a very pretty plummy pinkey red. I like to think it suits my pale skin and blonde hair but it's quite a dramatic lipstick that I know won't be to everyone's taste. It's moisturising on the lips and doesn't drag when you apply it. Always a bonus.

When I first wore it my boyfriends mum commented on how nice it looked and went to order it that day. I'd wear this more in winter as at the moment I'm loving a slightly brighter pink but it's still a firm favourite in my ever growing lipstick range.

Have you tried any Avon Lipsticks? This one is £8.50 so higher price range of drug store but with Avon you can usually get some kind of offer on like a free product or 2 for £12 so if you are in no hurry it's best to wait a few brochures till an offer comes up. It can be bought here, there are a few other colours I'm eyeing up at the moment.

What do you think of this shade?

Love M

Leaving Party!

In case you missed yesterday's post, I explained that I am currently in America at University completing a 6 week module which was ridiculously last minute and I had no idea what to pack and I was going completely on my own but I am so excited to finally be here!

My amazing friends came back from wherever they're living at the moment and we all went out last Saturday and had an amazing leaving party for me.

We started off at mine, with a few jugs of Pimms and some crazy photos in the garden, including one of them picking me up for a photo which went horribly wrong and all of it was caught on camera, lush!

Me and M both went all out for the night, both wearing dresses, heels, hair curled, make up plastered on, nails polished and painted and limbs tanned to perfection!

Essentially, our make up and hair looked like this ^^

Both rocking a red lip and lined eyes!
My base is created using Mac ProLongwear foundation (here), Mac Pressed Powder and Rimmel's Wake Me Up Concealer.
I also have on Benefit's High Beam and New Look's Giles Deacon Blusher palette in the brown colours (here) (Currently featuring some of these products in our giveaway, don't forget, it ends today!)
I do have some eyeshadow on but stuck with neutral pigments that I have from the Mac Green Tartan collection. I absolutely love them because they blend together so well and look good with anything!
I'm also wearing Mac lashes but the number of them escapes me!
They're my favourite and I use them all the time.
Lastly I am also rocking the wonderful Russian Red lipstick from Mac that I bought for my birthday (here), I love the colour so much and I'm so glad to have finally found a true red lipstick that looks good.

M is wearing Mac ProLongwear Foundation as a base. Eyes are made up using Front Cover eyeshadows in Powder Puff, Twinkling Gold, Frosted Almond and Baked Bronzed which are currently all on offer in Boots for £1 each!
Her blush is courtesy of Sleek's new Blush by 3 in Lace, that I'm sure has a post coming up soon!
She also has on Jelly Pong Pong lashes and her lips are Maybelline's 24 dual ended lipstick in 510 Red Passion.

Here's what we wore!

I had on a dress from the Cameo Rose boutique from New Look, this dress was a bargainous £19.99 so I picked up the belt and some tan wedges (all from New Look) too! The wedges were £25 and the belt was around £8. The metal part was originally straight and looked horrendous on, but M had this clever idea of bending it, so we moulded it around me and it looked perfect! She's a genius. All of this was bought with student discount too as it's one of the last times I can use it!

M also wore a dress from New Look that cost her £8 in the sale! Absolute bargain, the colour and print are gorgeous and it has a cut out back that's perfect for going out or lounging at the beach or pub.
M seems to be the perfect bargain hunter as her belt is from the one and only Primark (£3) and her shoes are from New Look, but bought from a seller on eBay, I never seem to find stuff as nice as this on there!

M stacked a combination of mine and her bangles up her arm and they look lush!
Her bag is also from Osprey and is the perfect staple bag that any wardrobe needs.

My friends bought me a very patriotic union jack glittery sticker which I was forced to wear for the evening.
Originally they wanted me to wear it on my forehead but I refused so they agreed I could wear it on my thigh as long as I flashed it for a decent part of the night....which of course I did after the large amount of Pimms they made me drink!

Bit of a drunken photo, but you can see M's beautiful nails with the Leighton Denny polish that she blogged about here, and of course a knuckle duster of a ring!

Again, more thigh flashing, I'm surprised I wasn't thrown out the amount of leg I was showing at everyone in the bar!

This was found on the bar's website the next day, at least we did look fabulous at the beginning of the night haha!

And the last photo is of a few silly poses at the beginning of the night...probably a sign of what was to be expected for the rest of the night!

We both had an amazing night out, and felt horrendous the next day (when I had to pack!) but it was definitely worth it.

These photos are going to keep me going for the next 6 weeks, hopefully we can have just as good a night for when I come home, right M???

Hope you enjoyed the photos :)

NOTD: Revlon Watermelon Fizz

If you haven't been following us on twitter or just haven't noticed our tweets, I am currently studying in an America Uni doing a 6 week module. It was really last minute so hardly had any time to prepare!
I've only been here a few days and am still settling in but so far I'm having an amazing time and eating lots of food ha!

So my posts may be a little irregular and I'm thanking the lord for WiFi and scheduling posts as although I love to write them, it's proving a little complicated when you're not at home and there's a 5 hour time difference.
So there may be a little change up in the normal posting, I hope you don't mind :)

I may put up some pictures of where I'm staying and what I'm doing if you would like to see them? Let me know :)

As for this post, I am about to show you my new favourite nail polish!

I haven't got an polishes from Revlon so this was the first one for my collection:

It's called Watermelon Fizz, and its a red jelly type nail polish with lots of glitter and when it dries it smells of WATERMELON! How amazing!

I did think at the beginning as we walked over to the stand that it was a little gimmicky, but when I tested it on my nail I thought that even if the smell doesn't work the colour and formula were gorgeous!

Just have to remember not to try and smell them whilst they're still wet as you'll get a whiff of chemicals instead haha.
I never know whether things like this are cool or not, it's not as if smelling your nails is generally a good thing to do is it?!
Ha, nobody wants to be caught sniffing their own fingers but I suppose having them smell of watermelon is better than the usual smell of nail polish.

Another bonus of the Revlon polishes is that they are formaldehyde and toluene free, always welcome in the CSI world!

As for how it comes out, just take a look for yourself!

It's an absolutely beautiful cherry red colour with a subtle amount of glitter in.
The amount makes them look super shiny rather than glittery and tacky and I am absolutely completely in love with it!

The best part was it only needed 2 coats, 1 coat was a thick jelly type layer that looked nice by itself as a thinner layer, but I prefer how it looks with the full 2 coats and gives a more vibrant effect.

I totally went overboard on taking these photos...I couldn't stop!

No matter how many I took, the photos just don't seem to do the colour justice and as it was my first Revlon purchase I think I got a bit over excited.

As you can see in the photos, the bottles are a very decent size for around $6, and the brush inside the bottle was definitely decent enough for me to use and gave an even finish quite easily.

Have you seen these at your local Revlon counter??

I bought mine in Superdrug using the latest 3 for 2 offer and was so impressed with the formula and colour that I'm tempted to go back for more when the next deal is out!
I love it so much it even came with me to America, and I only brought 4 different colour to be really strict!

What do you think of the colour? Would you like to see some photos of my American University trip? Or what I packed in my suitcase, make up or clothing?

Let me know :)

Review: Vichy Skincare

As always, my quest for perfect skincare continues!

A few weeks ago (probably more than 2 months now!) I bought a few products from Vichy.

When I bought them there was an offer on, when you bought the new Normaderm day moisturiser you got the full sized cleansing gel for free! It was worth £12 if I remember rightly so this was quite a bargain!

To make up the set I decided to buy the Normaderm night cream too, as I'm really picky about having matching day and night creams, is anyone else like this?!

First up is the Normaderm Hydrating care Moisturiser.

I should probably mention at this point that Vichy's products are paraben free and non-comodogenic, which as we all know is very promising and it's stamped all over the packaging!

They claim:
Our complete care for imperfection-prone skin.
Transforms 6 imperfection concerns.

-Blemishes
-Pores
-Shine
-Oily Skin
-Marks
-Uneven Complexion

To me this sounds like a lot of promises for a product that I hadn't heard of before I saw it on the shelf.

However I'm a sucker for lists and simple packaging so obviously my inner demon wanted it!
I would like no blemishes, no pores, no shine, marks or uneven complexion and would definitely like the banish my oily skin!

The moisturiser is white and quite thin in consistency, I absolutely LOVE it.

I truly believe that my skin has improved from using this, and whilst I've had a few spots I think this is due to the better weather causing my skin to excrete oil at an even higher rate than usual.

I'm hoping with such a good improvement over a small space of time I'm hoping that with time my pores will shrink a little and my skin will appear more even.

I bought the Normaderm night cream because I like a matching set of skincare and had to buy the night cream as well as the day one.

However I was mildly surprised to find that I also love this product too!
Surprising only because I hadn't intended to buy it, not because I thought it would be rubbish.

This product feels like a thicker version of the day moisturiser and when on the skin feels like a primer would.

I loved the fell of it as it was unexpected, it felt like it mattified my skin and made it feel like velvet!

I have definitely seen an improvement in my skin tone after using these two products combined, and am interested in trying out their Normaderm Total Mat Gel as it claims to control shine under make up all day which would be amazing right now!

I haven't used the cleanser yet as I also bought Liz Earle at the same time.....but I will be trialling it soon when the pump finishes.

Have you tried anything from Vichy?
