Nail Varnish Collection

I've seen lots of posts lately of people sharing their make up collections and I love having a nosey at what people have, don't you? Today I thought I'd share my nail varnish collection with you.

In my 101 things in 1001 days list, one thing I wanted was to own more than 100 nail varnishes. I love having a huge selection to choose from and play with. I love painting my nails and find when they are painted I am less likely to bite them. It's a habit I've almost stopped but still sometimes have to stop myself.

Here is my collection. I have a big variety of brands and have now tried most brands. Colours I feel I'm missing are yellow (which I currently have on order from Avon) and I don't have many metallics in my range.

I currently have 59 nail varnishes. Only another 31 to go before I can cross another thing of my list.

What colours do you think I need to add? Are there any colours that jump out of you?

On top of the 59 colours I have a further 15 top coats, clear, base coats and treatments. But I'm definetely favouring my OPI Matte Nail Envy.

I've read a few blogs that have stated to go on to OPI Maintenance Nail Envy once you've finished your first bottle. I'll be reviewing this once I've used it a while. I still have a little left in my original nail envy. I'm at the annoying bottom bit where it's hard to get out. The bottle has lasted my just over 2 months which is pretty good.

Have you used the maintenance version before?

Review: OPI Nail Envy

Some of you may remember I picked up a bottle of OPI nail envy back at the beginning of February. Found in the blog post here. I really wanted to give this a good go before I wrote a glowing review of it.

I am now about half way through my bottle. I apply it as the instructions state, two coats on the first day then another coat every other day. Then after a week take it off and start the process again.

My nails before were peeling and very thin and weak.

My nails before

I can honestly say from using this they have improved so much. I wouldn't say my nails are super long now but they are so much stronger and the peeling of them have decreased, there has been less breakages of them. The tips also appear whiter, I'm not sure if this is just coincidence. Once this bottle has finished I will definitely be repurchasing. It really is worth the extra money and better than any others I've tried.

My nails now. Seeing the difference between the photos has surprised me!

I still tend to paint my nails once a week as I think they look boring without being painted. I picked mine up on ebay in the matte version (only as it was cheaper, I'd prefer the shiny version but it's much dearer) I purchased the Matte version from this seller and it's only 6.49 now.

Have you tried OPI nail envy? Is it something you're considering?

NOTD OPI I'm a Pool for Love.

A lovely friend sent me a selection of nail polishes, you may remember by essie NOTD found here, which was another polish I was sent. What a lucky girl. When I opened my parcel I was so pleased to see this, as I'd seen some of the range and absolutely love it.

I started with a coat of my trusty OPI Matte Nail envy (full review coming soon). Then painted on two coats of the polish. In two coats it was completely covered, after one coat it was a little patchy. now to describe this beauty of a colour. To start with photos don't do it justice. It reminds me slightly of OPI Russian Navy. It's undercoat is similar to this with gorgeous pink and purple micro glitter.

NOTD

I was trying to give my nails a break and just use OPI nail envy but after 2 and a bit weeks they looked so bland and I had to paint them today. The other day a lovely twitter follower sent my some nail varnishes. Including in the ones I got sent was an essie one I was dying to try out.

I absolutely love the essie polish (shade aruba blue) and can't wait to buy more (hopefully I can get it cheap in the uk) the formula was amazing, opaque in one coat but I two to be on the safe side. It has a small brush (not like the one stroke polishes) which I personally prefer as I find it easier and it has a handle I can actually grip, I love my models own and nails inc nail varnishes but find the tops hard to hold.
