Wedding Guest Outfit Inspiration

Hey All

I'm reaching the age where I seem to have lots of weddings to go to. I tend to be really bad at reusing dresses and love the excuse to buy a new one. I always have the best intentions to re-wear a dress but it never seems to happen so when the other half asked me to be his plus one for a few weddings in November I instantly started browsing sites.

When I saw Asos had a sale on I started browsing and accidentally ended up with 12 items in my basket making their way to me!

Here are my top picks and I ended up keeping three of these dresses. I had the best intentions to only keep one but they were such bargains I needed to keep a few more.

Untitled

This is my favourite of the dresses and most likely the one I'll wear. I love the green colour with blonde hair and think the neckline is interesting. It's also really comfortable as while it's tight it skims everywhere. It also comes in petite range too. It comes in at £31. (link)

Untitled

I love mint green and I'm yet to own much in this colour. I love the length and fit and it's a little booby but think the length still makes it ok for a wedding. For me I wasn't sure if this was too summer wedding due to the colour but it is available in a few other colours. It is a bargain £19 and is great quality. (link)

Untitled

This one is the other half's favourite. I know he's biased to it though as he loves red dresses. I love the tone of this as I do find red sometimes looks cheap but as it's a bit more on the burgundy side it looks nicer. I love the touch of lace. I'm a lace fan but I do think it's hard to find lace that doesn't look cheap sometimes. It is a very tight dress so this one may only be worn if I lose a pound or two so I'll feel comfortable after eating. Another bargain at only £18. (link)

Untitled

Lastly is this Lipsy one. I rarely find anything in Lipsy I like. I find it can be chavy, or way to short for a tall girl. I'm also not a fan of an exposed zip. All of that aside I love this dress. It's a thick quality fabric so doesn't bunch on the body and just skims. It has padded cups so a bra isn't necessary, no exposed zip and a fair length. I love how the lace contours the waistline to help it appear smaller. This one is also only £19. (link)

Unfortunately this dress didn't fit me when it arrived. If it did I think it would have been a favourite. I think it's so simple but cut really well and stunning. It also comes in a cornflower blue. I think with pretty jewellery it would be amazing. (link)

With such bargain dresses who am I to resist a new one!

Where is your go to shop for wedding guest outfits? Which is your favourite?

Asos Sale Haul

Hey All

My brother is a total sales bargain hunter so is always sending me bargains. The latest whatsapp bargain contained these two belts that ring in at a to cheap to resist £2! I was in need of new belts so couldn't resist a browse. As he's premier he also let me use his account for free delivery as I was heading back to my parents that weeks!

At £2 it seemed silly not to order them! (link here) I couldn't resist browsing the rest of ASOS sale which did prove dangerous. Here's the other bits I grabbed. I could have bought so much more. I tried to have some self restraint (says the girl that bought 4 belts and wanted 5!)

I'm a huge fan of waist belts and bottle green so there was no way this wasn't going to end up in my bag. I love belts like this with dresses as they just add a little something more to a plain dress and make my waist look smaller. This one was more expensive at £5 (link here)

Lastly on belts the colour of this caught my eye! The blue is an amazing matte pastle shade and I loved the rubberised finish of it. I think this colour will be amazing with tea dresses! At only £3 it was being ordered! I think I'd have personally preferred a silver buckle with the colour of blue! (link here)

Next up is loads of jewellery. I'm loving the delicate jewellery that seems to be everywhere but I seem to be lacking it. Also weirdly lately my ears have finally accepted being pierced and are happy to wear cheap earrings after 18 years of only wearing gold or plastic ones!

For £2 these had to be mine. I love the simple delicate design of these. They are also a brushed gold so don't look tacky. I'm definitely usually more of a silver person. I find a lot of my belts have gold buckles though so I am trying to buy more! (link here)

I was drawn to the gem stone bullet setting on this necklace and loved the light blue shade of it! The worn silver holding it looks great! It is a little annoying to wear as it does tend to choke me after a while and the second bit becomes super long! It was the most expensive buy at £5.50 (link here)

I think this is my favourite purchase. I love the layering of dainty necklaces but don't own enough to do it. The contrast of the white against gold I love and the fact one of the chains has squares on. It's so simple but I can see my getting tonnes of wear from it! This one was £4 (link here)

These disappointed me! Mainly my fault as I can't be bothered to complain. The middle bracelet was missing from my set and one of the beaded one's broke the second I put it on so I do only have 3 of this set! I do love little dainty bracelets and have already been wearing these a lot but I do think I need the gold one to break it up. I probably have one n my collection. These were £4. But to be honest I don't think they are worth it. (link here).

Have you been shopping the sales? Have you grabbed any bargains?

Spring Wishlist - Fashion

Evening!

Tonight I'm trying to distract myself from dreaded revision for a practical microbiology exam tomorrow! Online shopping is much more interesting than trying to learn different bacteria!

I'm getting inspiration for a spring wardrobe. I really like my style is changing lately but unfortuately I don't have the money to support so I'm day dreaming instead!

Lately I've been finding leggings annoy me. It's too hard to find the perfect pair. I can't seem to find any that are properly black, not see through, don't sag on the knees and are long enough because of this I've been eyeing up treggings. Topshop have an amazing range and some great patterns.

I love this plain black version. They are £25 and are just easy to wear with everything. I love that they are thicker than normal leggings and still have the stretch to pull you in a little.

I absolutely love the print on these. They are slightly more expensive at £30 but I think the print makes them worth it. They are great for dressing up or down. I'm not sure my pear shape can pull them off but I really hope I can!

I absolutely love my latest primark leather jacket but it's not great for as the weather warms up. I've got a black blazer and really would love some coloured ones for spring.

I love this soft pink blazer and think it would be amazing the floral print treggings. I really want a softer coloured blazer for spring as black can be too harsh. I like that it's tailored as I need jackets to nip me in at the waist or I look big. This one is from Matalan and is £25!

I love the bright blue version too. This would be amazing with light denims!

I really want some distressed denim hot pants with frayed edges. I think they are great with patterned tights for while it's still chilly. The problem is I have a big ass and I'm not a fan of the shorts that show cheek! These look long so fingers crossed. They come in at £25 from Asos!

While it's still chilly I love a maxi dress paired with a jacket. I'm a maxi dress fan. They are so comfy and great for chubby days as they hide everything. I was really drawn to the back of this one from New Look which is £22.99 I'm not sure if the print is a little much for me though!

Lastly I really want some casual cami's that I can easily dress up or down. I really lack strappy tops which are dressy enough for an evening and these look like a happy medium. I love the bright colours they come in and think this one especially would be great with the black and white treggings! I love that it's not too clingy too! These are £12 for Asos!

That's my current spring fashion wishlist. What are you currently eyeing up?

OOTD Dogtooth Work Dress

Hey all it's hump day!! I have an exam tomorrow so I'm not all that happy to be half way through the week!!

Here is my second OOTD post. This is a work outfit. I'm very lucky in the fact I can wear what I like to work within reason.
Untitled

I'm trying not to overly wash my hair still. It seems in much better condition if I let it go three days. This does mean if I haven't gone swimming by the third day I tend to put it up. For that you can't beat a bun ring (I've done a tutorial on that here) I like to accessorise mine with Dainty Rose Glitter Bows (you can pick them up here) I've mentioned Dainty Roses lots on this blog. I have bought a lot from Lisa.

Untitled

On my lips I decided to wear Mac Angel. (review here). I've forgot about it a lot lately and want to start wearing it more again.

Untitled

I love loading up bangles. L is much better at arranging them than me. They are so easy to wear and I like to load up on jewellery if I have a simple dress.

Untitled

Rings are definitely my thing when it comes to jewellery. I have loads. I rarely leave the house without them. I love this one. It does tend to hurt my finger a bit after a while though. It looks go so it's worth it. A quick search on eBay found these which are similar. Two stacked up would give the effect.

Untitled

I love these. I've wanted leopard print pumps for a while. I picked them up from Tesco last summer. They could do with replacing so I'm eyeing up these. I'm loving the bow on these.

Untitled

I love to add a pop of colour to plain outfits and this two toned green double wrap belt is perfect for that. It adds shape too. I picked this up from ASOS a while a go. You can get a green skinny belt here for £5. It looks a similar colour.

Untitled

The dress is form next and a favourite work dress of mine. I love the cowl neckline which makes it suitable for work. It's a great length too and I can ware it bare legged in summer. I also go to Next the day after the sale starts and stock up on work dresses. They tend to have a few I like and have great prints.

Untitled

They also fit great. I've mentioned a few times my curvy bottom half. It can make dress shopping hard, my waist is an 8 and my hips can be upto a 12. I find next dresses generally fit in an 8 and are more roomy on the bottom half.

Where do you go for work wear? Can you wear what you like?

Spending Ban Update 9

The spending ban is very nearing the end, it's completely changed me. Even though I want things I have developed some will power (ignore last week's post where will power disappeared for a brief moment haha). I've stopped buying make up it seems. I'm so proud of this. I am now keeping my empties and I don't seem to be using much of it. I think even when the ban ends I really need to resist buying any more foundation, primer or mascara for a while. A girl always needs more lipstick though right.

First things first I did break the ban twice this week. One thing was absolutely necessary. It was this black dress from Asos. Unfortunately my mum's auntie passed away last week so I needed something long and plain suitable for a funeral. It was only £16.50 and it will be great for work after.

Secondly I went bridesmaid shopping with one of my friends for her wedding. I had decided I wanted to look my best while shopping and decided to do my make up how I may wear it on the wedding day. This involved individual lashes which I didn't own. As in Boots it's 3 for 2 at the moment it seemed silly to just buy the lashes. So I also picked up a Revlon Nail Varnish and the False nails I always use. (shown in this post).

The nail varnish is so gorgeous!! I love all the colours in it.

I will be adding on a few extra weeks to make up for my breaks. I'm thinking maybe I'll go till July. We will see.

How are your bans going?

Boxing Day Sales Shopping

With the spending ban looming I quickly made some purchases in the sale after Christmas and used my work discount to good effect...
Here's a quick preview of what I picked up and will in all likelihood be posting about soon!

This is photo heavy but I don't waffle on too much :)

I hadn't seen this in the Christmas section but someone brought it to the till, and at £15 before discount I needed it!

Also couldn't resist this set. I got the gradual tan one for Christmas and with discount this set was down to £10.........epic!

I did not plan on buying this but as soon as I saw these fragrance gift sets on offer for 1/3 off I went sniffing away at them until I found this lovely Ralph Lauren one.

It is part of their new ish fragrance range that I first smelt in America and I loved the pink one, number 2. Unfortunately it would seem so does every one else so that had sold out everywhere (even online!) so I picked up number 4 for £20.

I've had my eye on these beauties for a long time, and eventually made the purchase!
I bought them off ASOS in the sale which was crazzzzzy and I really shouldn't have bought them or at least not as many but I did and I love them allllllllllll.

Expect lots of gushy posts from me about these beauties, I love nail varnish, love OPI and am a complete Bond freak (I love the drama, action and glamour!)

Here are two new pairs of shoes I also picked up from the Dorothy Perkins sale, they cost £35 altogether, which was before student discount so I did reaaaaaaaaally well with these!

I also picked up some new jeans. Nothing special, just a black skinny pair and a normal dark denim pair to replace two that are now too big for me.

Lastly I had a splurge on Urban Outfitters where I picked up the following three for around £25, which was amazing considering the top was originally £28!

I love the galaxy feel of the top, with the space and zodiac vibes! It has low cut arm holes too so will be great for comfort.

The studded item is my new phone case to stop it getting bashed in my bag and keep it looking chic and the bangle was a random buy that I absolutely love already!
It goes with so many things and considering its so long is quite comfy and I'm sure will feature in my life quite a lot!

So there's my splurge before the ban and the reason for me being ok with the ban.....11 days in ;)

Do you like my purchases? What do you think of the shoes and cosmetic goodies?!
