Beauty Rehab

Hi there lovelies!

I've been working hard for these Beauty Rehab posts of late, and have been successfully powering through my stash. I've still got a long way to go but using up moisturisers is my biggest mission as i seem to have thhe worlds biggest collection.

If you're looking to use up your stash as quickly as possible I would recommend you start with all of your half used products followed by sample sizes. After that, start attacking your biggest items as I'm assuming that space is the number one reason for using items up. I'd probably suggest you avoid using Soap and Glory products as they're always so big and last forever, testament to their value but not ideal for using up!

014

Weleda Skin Food - Actually really liked this, too greasy for day wear but a gorgeous smell and a thick cream for hydration, Would consider buying it.

Indeed Labs Pepta Bright - Not sure if this works or not, I did enjoy it and the effects initially but I was rubbish at continuous use so I can't comment on the entire tube. Wouldn't repurchase as it wasn't the right product for me.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara - loved this but unfortunately after an eye infection this one had to go....I'm extremely fussy with eyes products! Would rebuy but not at full price, the Christmas sets are worth waiting for!

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer - Love love love for the £4 price tag. Have already repurchased!

013

Re Gen cream - a home bargains bargain, lovely moisturiser but can't say it had any re generation properties.

Body Shop Clementine body butter - loved the smell of this and actually enjoyed using it considering I'm not a body butter fan! Would rebuy in future when I don't have 5 million others to use....

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation - initially loved this but the colour didn't suit me as much after a time. Needed to condense my foundation collection which is taking some time!

012

JPG MaDame perfume - absolute favourite perfume. Struggled from Christmas to get one for my birthday so am very relieved to have a full bottle again!

Bourjois Nail varnish remover pot - Loved this but it does seem to degrade pretty fast. I'm sure there will be a cheaper version soon but I do like the look of the new toe nail remover they've got!

Ojon Rare Blend Hair Oil - lovely smell, lovely idea but it was a chore to use and I don't like pouring things. wouldn't repurchase again as I'd prefer one with a dispenser.

Botanics Clay Face Mask - technically not finished...I don't get on with this mask any longer and there's not a lot left in the tube anyway. Wouldn't repurchase as I have plenty more!

010

Cutex nail varnish remover - wouldn't normally include polish remover but I'm intrigued if anyone ever thinks that there's a difference between cheap and expensive brands?? I never notice a difference! Cheap is good with me.

S&G Slimwear - Used to love this and that it was blue, now it feels very cold on my skin! I have another tube of this to use so maybe I'll save it for just before Glasto in the hope it will make me look super svelte!

Aussie 3 Min Miracle - love this conditioner and will buy it forever more! Smells amazing and works a treat for my long and dry hair.

Aussie Mega Shampoo - also loved this, would repurchase both Aussie products but I've already stocked up for the next few months :)

009

S&G Smoothie Star Body Milk - took me a while to use this but loved it. The smell is so warming and comforting. Cannot go wrong with an S&G product!

Tresemme Salon Finish hair spray - great spray thought the nozzle does get clogged up easily. Good size can of spray for the £5 price tag! Have another in the sidelines.

Mane n Tail conditioner - enjoyed using this and it definitely did help the condition of my hair and length of it too. I'd love to try more products from their range like the leave in treatment.

Murad AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser - Loved this and it lasted forever, large price tag but was so worth it as this cleanser really works and isn't abrasive at all.

What do you think of my empties? Do you have any favourites in the list?

Facebook Profile Pictures

Evening All

It's been a busy few days for me as I had an exam yesterday! Stressful times and it didn't go great, arrrgh!! One more on Friday and it's all done for a year!

I've seen a few videos lately on youtube of people reacting to old facebook profile pictures so I thought I'd do a blog version of it! I love looking back at old photos and I do do it quite often.

So I figure it should start at the beginning! I was (who am I kidding, still am!!) a huge poser, sunglasses indoors mirror shot from back in the myspace days!

This was my first halloween at uni! Look at the mess in my room. Uni was 3 years of fancy dress! I still miss it now, this was a children's outfit from the disney shop! Clearly as it's halloween I did typical girl thing and made my costume as small as possible and zombiefied!

I was still in my myspace photos from above phase obviously haha! But I love how shiny my hair is here! I wonder what I was using!

This was a profile photo for ages until my aunt showed my nan! (sigh family members and facebook don't mix!!) This was after a rather heavy night at uni when I decided the hill to halls was too much and a nap was needed!

Birthday's aren't birthday's without crowns!

Wednesday's were always big nights out at uni for me and it seemed everyday wednesday without fail I'd come home with a cat face!

My fancy dress box at uni always had random additions from nights out. This parrot was in there until probably 18 months ago! I loved this dress but as you can tell it was a little short! Damn you River Island.

I did do something other than drink at uni! Water zorbing looked so much fun but it was soooooo hard to do!

I love this photo and still use it sometimes now! It was on holiday with an ex and we got up at 5 to watch the sunrise on the beach.

Photos like this just bring back good memories and make me laugh! Giant pile on fun!

I always look back at old photos and think where are my eyebrows! This was my first experience with coloured contacts! I love green eyes!

This is one of the first photos of L and I. This was when we started to get close! I loved that necklace and still have a version of it now! Loving the statement necklaces before they were a thing ha!

Our Graduation Day. Of course the hat throwing photo had to be taken! It took a while to get it right. Graduation was such a hyped up day it did just end up feeling a bit long!

I love this photo! This was a Christmas party. These guys were some of the people I loved working with the most and felt like I really fitted in. I love my hair and lashes here! No idea what the ruler between boobs is about!

This was taken at our first blogger event. It was so great to travel up to London for it. I loved these treggings and I'm so gutted they broke.

This photo is pretty recent and makes me laugh! It does annoy me lipstick is on my teeth. Damn you apocolips!

And the current facebook profile. I rarely smile with teeth so it's unusual for me to take a good photo but I really like this one. This night brings good memories so this photo does too.

Hope you enjoyed a nosey at my profile photos!! I'm pretty much still as posey but probably a little bit less of a drunken mess! Uni always brings back great memories, it was the best 3 years of my life!

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil

Happy Sunday ladies!

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend. We've got another double review for you today of a product we picked up a few weeks ago on the Easter weekend.

The Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer pencil is one that we'd never seen before the event that we attended but we both instantly decided, along with Nina from The Little Nomad that we all needed it and we cleared out the counter!

032

We all got colour matched and were all the same colour 'CIA'. It was super lucky that they had exactly 3 left as it is such a popular shade. There are 10 shades available and the pencils cost £12 for 3.5g of product.

033

034

This product is perfect to cover up red area, blotches, blemishes, under eye bags and also to highlight areas such as under the brow. It's creamy, long lasting and completely mess and fuss free. All you need to do is apply the product direct to your skin and then buff in with a brush of your choice.

The pencil dries to a semi matte finish and claims to be smudge free.

035

036

I really like pencil products like this, they're so easy to use and are pretty much a one-stop product to cover up so many kinds of flaws and imperfections making it fast and easy to use in the morning.

I've been using this pretty much all over my face. It's great in the mornings to apply on my under eye bags, spots and under my brows to highlight them. I do think that the colours in the range are great as even CIA might be too light for me sometimes. Its perfect to help cover up undereye bags which need that bit of extra lightness and opacity.

041

Below are two images of the concealer under my eyes, its such a massive difference to my usual black eyed look!

024044

Here it is with a looooooooad of black eye make up on the eye, still doesn't even look like a hint of a shadow underneath. I am so sold!

The only issue I've had with this so far is how fast the product is disappearing and how hard it can be to sharpen. You definitely need a large sharpener with a sharp blade to cut through the plastic. I've been combatting the usage problem by applying my usual Lasting Perfection concealer first which helps to cover most things and then i apply the 24/7 concealer onto my under eye area to help brighten it.

What do you think of the 24/7 Concealer Pencil? Do you rate its coverage and finish?

L xxx

Afternoon all.

As soon as I tested this out on the back of my hand I was totally sold and instantly told myself I had to have it. A girl always needs concealer right?!

As L said I think the past few weeks of sunshine have added a slight bit of colour to my face and I have found the shade a tad light now but I'm sure as soon as Autumn hits and I'm back to my ghostly white shade I'm going to be reaching for this.

The fact it's a pencil intrigued me. I've not had a concealer in pencil form before. I had the lipstick style ones but let's face it they were usually cheap, thick and cakey. I love how this melts onto the skin and when buffed in just cover. I do find for my under eyes I need to layer it a little. It doesn't look cakey though even when layered up.

I find the shade we picked also great to combat the redness I always have around my nose.

I do like this concealer but I wouldn't say I love it. For me nothing beats my Nars but the Urban Decay one is almost half the price so I think this will be a repurchase for everyday where!

Have you tried it? What's your go to high end concealer?

Birchbox

Goooooooooood morning!

I've got a quick review for you today. I'm sure you've all probably seen these Birchbox reviews by now as they have been out for a little while, but I've decided to take a few snaps of them to share what i think.

I'm lucky that my aunty (who has recently turned 50!) was bought a 6 month subscription to Birchbox and although she loves products and in theory it was a great present for her she just won't use them.....cue me being the very happy recipient of every Birchbox for the next 6 months!

IMG_5148

The first one I received was the Lulu Guinness box. I love the outer cardboard cover of this box, stripes and monochrome are a particular favourite of mine and the dress on the front of the box is a stunner as well, cannot complain one bit!

Generally I love these boxes as they're so handy for storing just about anything and they can stack up in display on your desk or shelving or be stored away  for safe keeping. I also really like the drawstring bags, they're so handy for travelling with and are actually really good quality and last very well.

IMG_5151

IMG_5152

As always these boxes come with a 'menu' and this one was no different. It contained a Korres body milk, Molton Brown hand cream, Pores No More pore perfector, Benefit Stay Don't Stray, a perfume sample and a Lulu Guinness stick of rock in the same black and white design.

IMG_5155

I cannot wait to try the citrus body milk from Korres, I've heard so much about them and citrus is my favourite scent.
Molton Brown hand cream looks the perfect size for your hand bag and I'm looking forward to using this.
The sound of the pore perfector is ideal, but on lifting up the tube i can see straight through it and can see already that there is only a tiny bit of product in the tube which is quite disappointing and I doubt I will be able to get more than 1 or 2 uses out of it.

IMG_5157

I can't say that perfume samples excite me in the slightest. I'm hoping my cousins appreciate these as I've just filled a huge bag of samples and products I won't use for them and this has definitely gone into it!
Benefit's Stay Don't Stray has been on my list for a long time and i'm very excited to try it out, it's probably the highlight of this box for me!

So marks out of 10 for the first box....probably 6/10. I like the variety and there's a few products i will enjoy but the pointless tester of pore perfector and yet another perfume samples was pretty boring for me.

IMG_5161

The second box has exactly the same set up with a drawstring bag and a menu card. Some people might consider the brown box to be boring but i really like it's simplicity. Brown paper is something that I love and it can be so effective at making things and it reminds me of this.

IMG_5164

This box contained:
Benefit's Porefessional - I'm already a fan and have lots of tester sizes for 'emergency purposes'
Non Aerosol Hair Spray - this will be great for my gym bag or handbag on a night out! Fingers crossed it's an effective one.
Skin Life - I love skincare samples so I'm sure this will be put to the test soon.
Eyeshadow - gorgeous colour but I have many in the same shade so this pot has again gone to my cousins.
Perfume -  Again not a fan of these, I'm yet to find one that i actually like so they've gone to my younger cousins, I'm sure they'll love them!

IMG_5166

So marks out of 10 for this box? Probably 7/10 for variety, the perfume still lets it down though.

I love receiving tester size samples and I'm so grateful to my aunty for sending me her boxes, it's so much fun to go through them all even though I get them late and could know beforehand what I'm getting by reading others blog posts. However I think if I was paying the full amount for each of these boxes plus P&P I'd be disappointed when I could be spending the £13 on something that I chose myself.

Maybe the next few boxes will change my mind! What do you think of beauty boxes in general? Do you think they're worth it?
