Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

Happy Saturday lovelies!

Hope you've got some exciting things planned. Currently I will be having a quiet day and then settling in to watch the Wales v New Zealand rugby match at 5.30pm as it's a big one for me family seeing as some of them now live over in NZ! That and it's always a tense game regardless!

M has frequently told me how flipping amazing the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is, but my bank balance just wouldn't stretch to it knowing I had a few Collection ones in the make up bag that needed using first. Needless to say when they were on their last dregs I caved and snapped this up without a second thought. Welcome to my make up bag NARS!

I chose the colour Vanilla as M uses the same. Most people seem to think i have much darker skin than I do on account of my near black hair colour but I really am quite pale (my mum gets annoyed when I wear dark lipsticks as it 'makes me look ill' - thanks mum, your genes remember!)

This colour was absolutely perfect for me and i haven't looked back. The rubber packaging looks really good though alas gets ridiculously dirty 5 seconds after opening.

073

I've been using this mostly under my eyes as it's wonderful at covering those pesky bags that never seem to go away. I think my skin is so pale that it will always be an issue for me!

The concealer is thick and creamy and blends in really easily so I've definitely been won over by the consistency and pigmentation.

The wand is also really easy to use and holds a decent amount of product without caking it on.

I have also used it to cover up spots on the odd occasion but I tend to use other products for that and save this one for the big job of concealing my undereye area. I use the wand to apply it to my face and then blend it in using an expert face brush from Real Techniques.

Here's a few snaps:

These two were without flash and show how the colour blends right in and covers up my bags really well. I've got foundation on as well as this is how I wear my make up every day so just need to set with powder to keep it set for the day.

The photo below shows with flash and you can see where my bags are but they are still pretty well camouflaged in my opinion!

I think I could have added an additional layer if I had wanted too and maybe it would be blanked out completely but for every day use this is perfect for me.

I've had no issues whatsoever and can only rave about the results from using this; it's a 10/10 from me and a 100% recommendation. Totally worthy of the hype and other rave reviews that I've seen!

Have you tried this concealer from Nars? What's your favourite Nars product? Do you have of their Christmas gift sets on your wishlist?

Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil

Happy Sunday ladies!

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend. We've got another double review for you today of a product we picked up a few weeks ago on the Easter weekend.

The Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer pencil is one that we'd never seen before the event that we attended but we both instantly decided, along with Nina from The Little Nomad that we all needed it and we cleared out the counter!

032

We all got colour matched and were all the same colour 'CIA'. It was super lucky that they had exactly 3 left as it is such a popular shade. There are 10 shades available and the pencils cost £12 for 3.5g of product.

033

034

This product is perfect to cover up red area, blotches, blemishes, under eye bags and also to highlight areas such as under the brow. It's creamy, long lasting and completely mess and fuss free. All you need to do is apply the product direct to your skin and then buff in with a brush of your choice.

The pencil dries to a semi matte finish and claims to be smudge free.

I really like pencil products like this, they're so easy to use and are pretty much a one-stop product to cover up so many kinds of flaws and imperfections making it fast and easy to use in the morning.

I've been using this pretty much all over my face. It's great in the mornings to apply on my under eye bags, spots and under my brows to highlight them. I do think that the colours in the range are great as even CIA might be too light for me sometimes. Its perfect to help cover up undereye bags which need that bit of extra lightness and opacity.

041

Below are two images of the concealer under my eyes, its such a massive difference to my usual black eyed look!

024044

Here it is with a looooooooad of black eye make up on the eye, still doesn't even look like a hint of a shadow underneath. I am so sold!

The only issue I've had with this so far is how fast the product is disappearing and how hard it can be to sharpen. You definitely need a large sharpener with a sharp blade to cut through the plastic. I've been combatting the usage problem by applying my usual Lasting Perfection concealer first which helps to cover most things and then i apply the 24/7 concealer onto my under eye area to help brighten it.

What do you think of the 24/7 Concealer Pencil? Do you rate its coverage and finish?

Afternoon all.

As soon as I tested this out on the back of my hand I was totally sold and instantly told myself I had to have it. A girl always needs concealer right?!

As L said I think the past few weeks of sunshine have added a slight bit of colour to my face and I have found the shade a tad light now but I'm sure as soon as Autumn hits and I'm back to my ghostly white shade I'm going to be reaching for this.

The fact it's a pencil intrigued me. I've not had a concealer in pencil form before. I had the lipstick style ones but let's face it they were usually cheap, thick and cakey. I love how this melts onto the skin and when buffed in just cover. I do find for my under eyes I need to layer it a little. It doesn't look cakey though even when layered up.

I find the shade we picked also great to combat the redness I always have around my nose.

I do like this concealer but I wouldn't say I love it. For me nothing beats my Nars but the Urban Decay one is almost half the price so I think this will be a repurchase for everyday where!

Have you tried it? What's your go to high end concealer?

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

Morning all!

I've been wanting to try Nars for ages. The blushes and bronzers are talked about a lot as is Sheer Glow Foundation. On a browse around John Lewis and a swatching session I tried the creamy concealer on my hand and was instantly hooked! It was so thick but blended out perfectly and knew it was only a matter of time before I caved.

I told myself I'd wait until Space NK did their next great offer but after accidentally ending up in there on a trip to London before Christmas I couldn't leave without it. Mine does already look dirty! I had to road test it before blogging and in the excitement of getting my hands on it i made it mucky!

Untitled

The packaging does get dirty and stay dirty but to be honest it doesn't bother me. Make up is there to be used not look clean. I love that the concealers and foundations are all coloured the same way so it's easy to match foundation and concealer. The concealer comes with the doe foot applicator which I like for concealer. It makes it easy to apply enough under the eyes, doesn't waste product and makes it easy to scrap the last bits out of the tube.

I have the shade vanilla and it's the perfect match for me. It's thick but blends flawlessly out. Even though it's creamy I don't find it creases on me and lasts much better than others I've tried! I use it under my eyes and to conceal spots and it works equally well.

You can see in the above photos my dark circles are easily concealed. In the first photo it's been on for 4 hours and is still holding well crease free!

I'm totally addicted to it already. I now need Sin blush. This will definitely be a repurchase for me, it really is worth the money!
