Seche VIte

When I went to America Seche Vite was one of the things I picked up. When I spotted it in target it went straight in the trolley. I'd heard so many good things about it I couldn't resist it. I love my No7 top coat and have mentioned my love for it loads on this blog.

Excuse my slightly battered box. It has been on a long flight. The bottle seems large and this will definitely last a while.

Seche Vite has a unique formula which allows it to be put on wet nails. Something I found my No7 one wasn't allowing. Lately when I was using it, it would streak the wet polish on my nail. Seche Vite is truly amazing. A drop on the nail does spread really well.

This topcoat really deserves all the good reviews it gets and I now wouldn't use another. It drys really quickly, leaves nails looking glossy and doesn't smudge wet polish. What more could you want. The brush is also very good. The way it holds the perfect amount of topcoat allows the nail to be covered easily and quickly.

You can pick it up readily on eBay it's a bargain £6.25 from this seller and they have 100% feedback. I cannot recommend this top coat enough and will be ordering some of their treatment base coats.

Have you tried Seche Vite? What's your favourite top and base coat?

NOTD Beetle Juice and China Glaze

Today is the end of our 21 day nail challenge but after spotting Make up Savvys 15 day nail challenge we've decided to extend it till tomorrow as we both wanted to try tomorrows theme (film inspired).
Today's nails are metallic. I kept the simple and did my favourite type of manicure a plain accent nail.

I used Nail Envy Maintenance (my favourite base coat ever and the best in mu opinion, I read somewhere a while ago after using the original nail envy to switch the the maintenance version.) The colours I choose were China Glaze Coconut Kiss purchased from eBay ages ago and Models Own Beetle Juice Purple Blue purchased from the models own website. They are also available in boots..

Coconut Kiss is a gorgeous metallic purple. As with all China Glaze polishes it is a gorgeous finish and perfect in two coats.

Purple Blye is a metallic purpley brown blue colour and looks different in different lights. This polish I had an issue with. I bought it at Christmas time and have used it once since buying it and it has gone very gloopy and thick already. I'm not sure if this is just due to the consistency of beetle juice nail varnishes or all models own ones do this. It turns different colours in different lights and seems to have a fine glitter imbedded in it.

I really like the contrast between these two colours and how they go together. Coconut kiss is a colour I need to use more I really love the colour it comes out on the nails.

Have you enjoyed are NOTDs over the past three weeks? I'm going to miss having an excuse to paint my nails so much. Though I have been bad this week and bit all my nails off. I'm so annoyed at myself. I've not bitten them in over a year now and this week for some reason I've gradually bit them all down to stubs :(.

NOTD Sally Hansen 080 Glitzy Gal

I picked this nail varnish up quite a while ago now and have been meaning to share it for a while. It's Sally Hansen Glitzy Gal. I'm not to keen on the name it seems a bit cheap to me. (if a name can sound cheap) But the polish more than makes up for that. It's a gorgeous grey glitter that's kind of matte with a variety of different shades and sizes of glitter.

Look how amazing it is after one coat. It's literally so packed with glitter it's opaque in one coat. Pretty impressive I think.

After two coat you have a solid glitter appearance. It shimmers but it's not overly sparkly. It's more of a dull glitter but I love this. It feels quite rough on the nails so needs a good top coat. Don't think this will make the glitter super sparkley. It doesn't but I like that.

Complete with top coat you can see how the light hits the silver in the polish and gives it a glitter while the grey stays matte looking. It's such a pretty polish and I feel comfortable wearing this for day wear. I sometimes feel a glitter polish is too much.

Is it a pain to remove? I honestly can't comment. When I apply a glitter I apply a layer of top coat a day so after 3 days I can usually peel off each nail in one and then just remove the few left over bits.

I'm keen to try more Sally Hansen polishes especially now they are more easily accessible.

Have you tried them? Any colours to recommend?

What I spent my No.7 vouchers on

I'm quite late posting this but wanted to share what I spent my vouchers on. I'm always looking for ways to spend mine as I end up with so many.

So here's what I purchased, Nail Varnish in shade Crave Me, Smokey eyeliner brush, face wipes, lipliner in nude, fast dry top coat, lipstick in mischief and lipstick in starshell.

L has posted Crave Me as a NOTD so I won't go into too much detail about this. The top coat is brilliant. It really dries quickly and leaves such a shine to the nail. I will definitely repurchase this.

I like the No7 brushes and think they are a good way to spend vouchers and get something I will always use. I love using this brush to shade my crease. It's great for blending in the colour.

The face wipes are a favourite of mine but spending £7 on a pack of face wipes is something I won't do. For £2 they are amazing. Due to the lid they stay most and are soft and strong so remove eye make up without tugging. I use them before cleansing as I find it easier to remove my eye make up this way.

I'm loving lip products at the moment and this a good lip liner really helps lipstick stay longer and stops it bleeding. The shade of this lip liner makes it very versatile and can be used with most of my lipsticks, I'm impressed with it.

I love both these colours on. They have a bit of shimmer which I prefer my lipsticks not to have but they are still wearable. These will both feature in Lipstick Mondays post so check those out if you want to see what shade they come out on the lip.

What did you spend your vouchers on??

NOTD - Models Own Thunder & Lightening

Hey guys, Sorry for the lack of COTW post yesterday. After a few too many cocktails for L's birthday celebration on Saturday night I was too tired to write it.

Hope you all had a good weekend! We had a great day and night on Saturday. This week I finally purchased my first Mac products. I was so excited and may have spent a bit too much. I want so much more already. I love all there lipsticks. I'm going to do a Mac haul tomorrow. I'm so impressed with all their products and think I should have definitely gone there sooner. On Saturday after having our make up done we had cocktails and donned are pretty dresses in the evening! Did you go out this weekend?

Anyway on to today's post. A quick NOTD for you, we are both obsessed with painting our nails and do it a lot! On Saturday I painted mine with Models Own Thunder and Lighting.

I bought this nail varnish at Christmas time, and it got put in my nail varnish bag and neglected. It's a gorgeous black jelly like polish packed with a fine holographic glitter. In sunlight it sparkles a gorgeous mix of shades which is stunning, I can't stop staring at my nails. When in false light it's an equally pretty silver. I really love the contrast with the black. I've been hunting a black glitter for a while now but can't seem to find one.

After repairing chips to it on Saturday night (I rushed and smudged them) it's stayed put for a good three days. Due to the glitter in it, it does need a good top coat to make it shiny or it has that slightly rough texture. I'm loving the No7 one at the moment. It's super shiny and a Bargain £2 when the boots vouchers are out. Also as the glitter is held in a jelly base, it did need 4 thin coats to get a strong black colour.

Do you like Models Own polishes? I'm getting more used to the bottle shape now. At first I found the lid uncomfortable to hold. I think they are great value for the quality and Models Own regularly have offers online like buy 5 and save £7 what a tempting offer!!
