Beauty: Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Powder

Hey All

A few weeks ago L and I headed to a Too Faced event at our local Debenhams with the Fab Ant Gorgeous (you can find his instagram here) and of course we couldn't resist a few purchases.

I've wanted a new cruelty free powder for a while and as soon I felt this I knew I had to purchase it.

Fast Face

Hello loves!

I'm sure we've all been there, that moment in the mornings when you're waking up from a dreamy sleep and suddenly BAM you realise that you've got exactly 10 minutes before you have to leave the house.

Ugh those mornings are a terror!

I'm one of those people that has to get up and leave ridiculously early for work every day as I have an hour's drive to work in the morning so most of the time I've made my lunch, set up my breakfast and laid out my clothes ready the night before. For this I have been thankful so many times!

During the dreaded mornings that I conveniently fall back to sleep after my alarm has gone off I admit I do grab a face wipe and slap on whatever moisturiser my hands can reach and that's it for skincare.

As far as make up goes I'm a speedy one for work as it is but here are my top products for a 'fast face'

1) Vichy Dermablend - one of my faves that I've just had to repurchase after panicking about my other foundations just not doing the job.
This blends perfectly with a buffing brush to give flawless skin whatever condition it's in and its my fail safe.

2) Stick concealer - Currently using Revlon's Photoready concealer. Super blendable and easy to just drawn on your face wherever you need it and its so creamy and hydrating. Undereye bags and spots be gone!
I just blend it in with an Expert Face brush and I'm done in 10 seconds.

3) Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Powder - I have the oily T-zone that brings about shine on a daily basis so I always need to set my face regardless of how late I am. A quick swirl of this and I'm good to go.

051

4) HD Brow Kit - I cannot deal without brows but when in a rush it can be a problem. I use the same brush every day for my brows so its pretty much pre-loaded with product and i just have to run the brush through to make sure that any loose powder isn't colouring them. Any specific shaping is normally missed but if anything this part is what takes me the longest out of my whole face, sharpie brows or wonky brows are a no no!

5) Bourjois Bronzing Powder - Also using a pre-loaded Kabuki brush I apply this to attempt some sculpting of my face. (I do wash my brushes regularly FYI but they do get a little loaded sometimes). This bronzer cannot be overdone on my face so its super easy to slap on and blend in seconds!

Untitled

6) Mascara - This changes quite often as I'm a germ phobe when it comes to eyes and am very OCD about throwing my mascaras out pronto. Currently using Rimmel Scandaleyes for work as its super easy to use, doesn't clump and coats and separates my lashes easy peasy.

032

I couldn't quite make it into a 5 minute / 5 product face as others have but I'm pretty sure an extra one won't make too much of a difference!

Do you have many of those dreaded late mornings? What would your face essentials be?

I'll be honest I'm much more likely to slap on some eyeshadow quick to define my eyes and step on it at 80mph to get to work.....but that's probably not an appropriate suggestion for keeping your life in tact is it!
You should definitely forgo the make up and drive within the limits....

Rimmel Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder

Hello lovelies!

I'm sure most of you use a powder every morning to set your base, and possibly even throughout the day when reapplying or touching up your make up.

I've always been a pressed powder fan, but M is a fan of loose powder. Seeing the Rimmel Match Perfection on one of the many offers in Boots I couldn't help but snap it up!

Rimmel are obviously a UK beauty fan favourite. Not only do they have a massive range of products to cater to everyone's needs, they're well priced, have a fun advertisement campaign and are almost always on offer so you can maximise your money. What more could you want?!

The Match Perfection range has many fans, myself included. About a year ago when both me and M were looking for products w could use to contour our super pale faces with we ended up picking up the lightest and darkest Match Perfection foundations to help us to do the job, and as you can imagine they were great and still get used today.

I knew I needed to pick up powder so in a 3 for 2 deal I picked up my usual Stay Matte Pressed Powder and then this one as my 'freebie' so I could try it out.

This loose powder comes with a little puff thing, which looks cute but isn't any use for me. I wouldn't be transporting this with me anywhere as I don't generally touch up my make up throughout the day so this has been donated to my younger cousins who have loved having some make up!

The inside of the pot is like any other loose powder product, it has a plastic covering with holes in to allow only a certain amount of product to be accessed at one time. I'm sure shaking it everywhere would defy this but generally that's not something you do...

055

Having tipped a little out and applied to my hand I was a little worried at first, it looks very light even on the back of my super pale hand!
The colour I picked up was Translucent, so I was hoping this would blend in nice and easy.

However I was glad to be wrong and it blended in beautifully and didn't leave any white residue marks as I thought it might when a flash was used:

To apply the loose powder in the mornings I used my Real Techniques Powder brush and Setting Brush.

The powder brush I swirl in the pan and then in the lid to ensure an even and uniform coverage on the brush which then hopefully translates to my face, I then use the setting brush for applying powder under my eyes on the delicate skin and around my nose to combat shine. Here are the results:

The powder applies really well and I don't find that I lose too much of it and find more on my top than my face. It sets my make up really well without being too cakey or powdery and doesn't make my skin too matte looking either.

It seems to withstand the hot/cold air con in my lab pretty well and hasn't been disappointing in keeping shine at bay as many other expensive powders I have tried before.

Here's a close up so you can see how natural and not powdery/cakey the effect is:

I've been quite impressed with this loose powder in comparison to its pressed powder counterpart, I'd definitely not be put off buying them in future like I previously have been.

Rimmel just seem to know what they're doing and for the price this will not disappoint whatsoever!

What's your favourite; pressed or loose powder? Are you a big Rimmel fan?
