Happy Sunday everyone!
We've got some great pictures to share today, who doesn't absolutely love dessert??
We were invited to an event at Thirty Nine Desserts to see the new dessert capital, offering a huge range of sweet treats including gelato, crepes, waffles, mocktails, milkshakes, cheesecake and cookie dough.
The menu is huge, it's slightly overwhelming but the pictures in the menu do help to make your choice! It's in a black hardback book so I loved the quality feel of these and the images are great quality too, cheap menus are rubbish!
We were offered we could order a few things off the menu so we spent a while reading it and made our way to the counter. There is a huge selection of ice creams available and also the cake fridge, there are all sorts of options in here including cheesecakes and carrot cake and other sponges.
We placed our orders and the first to arrive was the mocktails. We all ordered a different flavour so we tried Raspberry Mint Refresher, Lemon Mint Refresher, Passion Fruit Kick and Mango Fruit Kick.
They were all very tasty and refreshing, the flavours weren't synthetic and I'd struggle to choose my favourite!
Then the desserts started to arrive......first up was the After Eight Sundae:
It even matched my clothes! It was a great choice and not something I would normally have gone for, the ice creams were really creamy and the mint sauce was good too. I can't remember the last time I ate a sundae so I really enjoyed it.
Next we tried the Cookie Dough. We chose the white chocolate and raspberry option, it was maybe the sweetest thing I've ever tasted but it was SO GOOD!
It was freshly cooked and then covered in vanilla ice cream, white chocolate sauce and raspberries. The raspberries were definitely needed to cut through some of the sweetness but I really enjoyed this one, the cookie dough was super soft and gooey and worth every bite.
The Ferrero Rocher cookie dough also looked amazing, it's the same cookie dough but with chocolate sauce and ice cream and crumbled Ferrero Rocher. This belonged to Zoe so I snapped a quick picture for you but actually didn't try it, we were waiting on our last dessert which was the Ferrero Rocher crepe.
It arrived and by this point we were feeling pretty full. We'd decided to skip having any actual meal and just fill up on dessert but after sharing a sundae and the cookie dough we were feeling it!
But in the name of all that is blogging we obviously pushed through and tackled the Ferrero Rocher crepe. It was divine.
There was a whole load of chocolatey sauce, crushed Ferrero Rocher and extra nuts sprinkled over the crepe. It was so very tasty and we would definitely recommend. I did wish the crepe was a bit warmer when it arrived with us but I'd imagine with how busy everything was they may have been struggling to keep up with delivering the desserts to the tables.
The venue itself is really sleek and lots of mirrors and black shiny surfaces, they have a few seats upstairs but the main seating area is downstairs. It was lovely and cold on the day we were there so I can also confirm they have fantastic air conditioning.
On leaving they asked us for any feedback (cutlery and serviettes on the table please!) but apart from that it was a great event and I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're looking to satisfy any sweet craving. I can see it being very popular with families over the summer holidays but also friends, for dates and after work indulgences. Every dessert is very instagrammable so get in there and try for yourself!
Which dessert is your favourite?? What would you try??
I think I need to go back and sample more of the cakes and more gelato!
