Hey all!
I've been slowly making my way through The Body Shop's range of skincare, and haven't really shared much of my thoughts on it yet. I recently made an order of cleansers because mine were running low, so I decided to pick up a few different types and get stuck in.
I've been slowly making my way through The Body Shop's range of skincare, and haven't really shared much of my thoughts on it yet. I recently made an order of cleansers because mine were running low, so I decided to pick up a few different types and get stuck in.
I bought the Camomile Cleansing Oil, Cleansing Butter and the Make Up Remover, I felt like it covered all bases and was a wide range of cleanser types for me to get stuck into and compare.
The first one I tried was the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil
I've tried a few cleansing oils before and I like having them as an option when taking off my make up at the end of the day. They're great for melting make up off your face, particularly when you have heavy make up on. I find they work really well at getting the grime off and then I always cleanse my face with another cleanser afterwards.
This one matches its silky name, it's really smooth and when using it my skin hasn't reacted at all. It melts even waterproof make up off with one swipe and even better, doesn't leave a layer of slime over your face when you're trying to take the day's grime off.
The cleansing oil doesn't smell strongly either nor does it react with my sensitive eyes, so that's a big bonus for me! The Silky Cleansing Oil costs £12 for 200ml.
The Sumptuous Cleansing Butter was the second product I tried.
The tin makes it great for travelling with, and I know I can take it away with my without having to worry about liquid restrictions nor leakages.
The butter melts on contact with your skin, so I've found I can either use my hands to scoop a bit out of the tin whilst it melts or use a wash cloth to pick some up.
The cleanser also melts make up off really easily and I was surprised how well it did it. I also thought considering how rich it was that it would stay on my skin but it came off easily with warm water and a wash cloth.
This has also been really gentle on my eyes so a big thumbs up for me for this one too!
The Cleansing Butter is £10 for 90ml.
Last we have the Camomile Waterproof Eye and Lip Make Up Remover:
This product is a bi-phase remover, I give the bottle a quick shake and use some cotton pads and the make up just melts away. I know this is the third time I've said that in this post but having not used many of the Body Shop cleansers I had no idea what they would be like, and I've been really impressed at how easily my full eye make up (eyeshadow, liquid liner, mascara, highlight, concealer and brows!) just slides off. Magic!
This product makes even the heaviest make up a thing of the past and hasn't irritated my eyes at all. I've mentioned many times that my eyes are sensitive and sometimes I can't wear lenses for long at all, but this hasn't affected my eyes at all.
The Make Up Remover is £10 for 160ml.
So what did I think of them all together?
Put simply, I loved them all and would buy them all again. I've liked the option of using an oil and a butter but I also wouldn't use this for every time I wash my face as I need to control the oil levels.
I do like to use a foaming wash in the morning because using anything too heavy on my skin can affect the oil balance and give me spots - cue me buying the Tea Tree face wash so expect a review of that soon!
Have you tried the Camomile cleansers from the Body Shop? which is your favourite?
What's your favourite range from them? I've been so impressed with my purchases and the prices!
