If you've read Mia's post on the Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream then you will know we were recently sent some products from Antipodes containing avocado. Everyone is totally obsessed with the stuff lately and it's not hard to understand why!
Avocados are renowned for containing a large number of healthy fats and are championed for a healthy diet for weight loss, shiny hair and of course good skin. But if you're applying it instead of eating it, is it worth it?
We're always excited when Antipodes bring out new products and we are lucky enough to get the chance to try them (you can see all of our posts by looking at the label Antipodes here). We loved the Manuka Honey range and the Divine Oil is a staple in my life, I've gone through a few bottles of the stuff and will always purchase more.
The Rejoice Light Day Cream is a light and non oily cream for the day, it's designed to hydrate your skin but not be too oily for day time. It contains manuka flower oil, sweet almond and pure organic avocado oil.
The Manuka flower oil is antibacterial so has some healing and protective properties, the avocado oil boost collagen and therefore helps to keep skin soft and helps it to regenerate. Avocado oil is nicknamed 'Green Gold' by Antipodes because it has so many amazing properties, and has been used to help skin conditions from anti ageing to helping burns and psoriasis to heal.
It also contains sweet almond and vanilla pod for the fragrance which is really light.
Initially I was a bit worried about using it for day, my skin is combination and at the moment I've been using an oil free moisturiser that has really helped with keeping me from getting too shiny throughout the day so I wondered if this would be too much.
The cream feels quite thick when you squeeze it out the tube, but actually as soon as it goes on the skin it kind of melts and isn't as heavy as I thought it would be.
It sinks in pretty fast and actually doesn't feel oily or greasy at all, I've been using it every morning for the last few weeks and my skin has stayed really hydrated but not oily so that was a big relief!
In fact on weekends where I've not worn make up I've put on some more and it's still absorbed into my skin.
Although this cream initially doesn't feel very 'light' I've found it to be just that, and my combination skin hasn't reacted in any way. This is exactly why we love Antipodes products so much because we've never tried one that didn't do what it was supposed to, and we've never disliked any of them!
The Rejoice Day Cream costs £26.99 and is certified 100% ingredients from natural origin, 71% of which are organic. They also use 100% biodegradeable cardboard from sustainable forests and recyclable aluminium tubes in all of their packaging, and they are completely cruelty free.
If you haven't tried Antipodes yet we think you definitely should, would you try the Rejoice day cream or another? Check out our reviews to see what else they have to offer!
