OOTD Tie Dye Side Split Maxi Dress

I'm always on the look out for new maxi dresses or midi dresses that flatter my figure. I'm 5ft 10 so finding a maxi dress long enough isn't always that easy. I've found with midi dresses the normal t shirt shape doesn't flatter my pear shaped body.

When I was in Swansea visiting the Benefit Boutique at the weekend I saw this dress in the window of Quiz I had to go and try it on. I love that the shape of it is a bit different and not something I've seen too much of. Quiz isn't usually a shop I'd think to go in as it's always a bit tacky prom looking in the window for my tastes.

Tie dye is definitely not a trend I thought I'd be sporting this summer. It looks great on some people but I didn't expect it to on me. I love the bright colours of this dress. It also comes in Black and Stone combination and Mint and Neon Green. It retails for £24.99 and can be purchased from Quiz.

I love that the dress has a rouched area around the stomach. Perfect for hiding any lumps and bumps and making everything appear smooth. It also means you aren't limited with underwear. Some maxi dresses due to colour and cut can mean you have to be careful not to show the dreaded VPL.

The dress isn't quite floor length on me but due to the split and the cut I don't think it matters. It's a soft stretchy material and so comfortable.

The split on the dress sit's quite high on me. I am tall though and think it would sit lower on most people. I find that even though the split is quite high it doesn't blow up in the wind and the high neckline on it still leave it not looking over the top.

Untitled

You can pull the dress so the split either sits at the front or the side of it. It means the dress is comfy and easy to walk in and stops it being too tight.

I also love that it can be styled so many ways. I've been pairing it with my fake vans (Featured in this OOTD) and cropped demin blazer for a laid back look.

Untitled

It also looks great paired with flip flops and would be a great beach cover up. The little capped sleeves would be perfect for holidays when the shoulders have been burnt. I always seem to do this.

Untitled

Lastly it could easily be paired with sky high heels and you're ready for a night out!!

Untitled

I love it when I find something unexpected. I'll definitely be picking up the black and stone version and checking out more of Quiz's maxi dresses.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Compensating Soothing Moisturizer

This was something I recently found in my sample stash box. I'm trying not to buy new things at the moment until I've used up some of my huge collection. I was lucky enough to win a competition Escentual.com hosted when Bioderma came to the UK to win a sample size of it. Escentual generously sent out a huge bag full of samples and goodies and this was one of them.

Untitled

I didn't pay too much attention to it at first and forgot about it. I've never tried anything from La Roche-Posay. My skin lately has been feeling dry but still getting oily so I decided to root through my sample box to see if I could find anything. Then I saw this and it sounded like everything I was looking for in a moisturiser.

Untitled

The moisturiser is paraben free which is always a good thing and non comedogenic. I like that the product has been tested on ache prone skin so you know that it's going to provide the mositure without breaking you out.

Untitled

It's packaging I like. Hello tube and not having to stick my fingers into a pot. I find I need just over a pea sized amount to cover my face and neck. I

Untitled

It's a light moisturiser that sits well on the skin and easily sinks in. I was worried about using something that was going to give my skin back some moisture during that day as I was worried it would make me oilier quicker. The light formula makes a great base for my make up and doesn't make me face oiler quicker.

Untitled

As you can see blended in there is no shine on my hand. It leaves my skin soft and well moisturised. I'm really loving this. Best of all 40ml retails for only £9.50. I'm always on the look out for more reasonably prices skincare.

I'll definitely be trying more from La Roche-Posay. Any recommendations? Fancy trying this. If you're quick it's on offer at Escentual for only £6.37 here. They currently have 1/3 off all french skincare.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks

As I mentioned yesterday I was lucky enough to win a big Boujois competition and got lots of make up. When the Rouge Edition lipsticks came out I was on the spending ban so didn't look at them as lipstick is my weakness and didn't want to cave. Since then I'd forgotten about them as I keep forgetting about Bourjois. Since winning I definitely won't be!!

I got the shades 07 Fuchsia Graffiti, 15 Rouge Podium and 02 Beige Trench. I would have picked the first two myself but probably not the third.

Untitled

The packaging of these make it really easy to see the colour of the lipstick. I like the it has the section at the bottom showing it. The pink and the red writing stand out against the black backgroud and is a simple design I like

Untitled

The lipsticks have the number of them on the bottom. I don't like that boots uses the name yet the number is on the lipsticks. The name is only on the barcode sticker which I'd normally remove.

Untitled

Untitled

The bullet is typical shape. All the colours are very pigmented and glide easily onto the lips and have great wear time.

Untitled

Fuchsia Graffiti 07 is a bright blue toned pink. Perfect for spring/summer and really adds a pop of colour. The bright pink shade is really flattering on my current pale skin but would also look great with a tan. The blue tone too it also helps teeth appear whiter. It leaves a nicer almost glossy finish and isn't drying.

Rouge Podium 15 is a great red for people who aren't so confident with a red lip. This is a true red colour but applies sheerer than the pink. It makes it great for day wear as can be used to give the lip a soft red tint or built up for a stronger red shade. Glides on to the lip easily and feels soft on the lip.

Lastly is Beige Trench 02. This is a blue toned true nude. It's very pigmented. I find this doesn't suit my skin tone but I'm sure on other it would look great. It's got brilliant pigmentation for a high street nude shade and lasting power. I just find it's too blue toned on my skin tone. Maybe when I have a tan it'll work or with a gloss.

There are some other gorgeous shades in the collection I can't wait to try out. 14,18 and 12 look amazing. The next time they are on 3 for 2 I think I'll be purchasing.

I really love the formulation of these. They are really pigmented, last well and aren't drying. Have you tried they Rouge Edition lipsticks?

Review: Bourjois Little Round Pot Cream Blush

The Bourjois Cream Blush are a relatively new release. L and I were lucky enough to get sent the shade 2 and 3 to test out. I was even luckier as a few days after receiving these I won a huge Bourjois twitter competition on my personal account and won loads of goodies including all four of these blushes so I gave L the one I doubled up on. Expect lots of reviews on my Bourjois goodies. It's a brand I kind of forget about but I've been so impressed with some of the products.

Cream blushes are always more popular in the spring summer. They look flawless blended into skin to give a healthy glow. During summer month when my skin is behaving I find I don't always need a foundation so a pop of concealer and a cream blush can leave the skin with a natural glow.

Untitled

The Bourjois blushes come in four shades. 01 Nude Velvet which is a really natural soft pink with a hint of an orange warmth to it. 02 Healthy Glow is an orangey coral colour, perfect for summer and I'm sure it will look great with a tan. 03 Rose Tender is exactly what you'd expect from the name, a rose pink shade. Lastly is 04 Sweet Cherry is the darkest of them all, almost a brick red shade with a hint of pink to it.

Untitled

The blushes are a cream to powder formula and blend softly onto the skin for a really natural look. I've found they apply best using fingers. I've tried with a few brushes and they just don't work. The pots are colour coordinated to match the colour of the blush so make picking a colour easy. They have a magnetic closer so stay shut well when thrown in the make up bag and come with a mirror in the top.

The colour selection is great, all natural shades and very wearable. They are pigmented colours but due to the colours the chance of looking like a clown wearing these is unlikely. I think these will be perfect for anyone not too sure on wearing blush and for people who prefer the more natural look with blush.

Shades 01,02,03,04

I really love the texture of these, they are so soft and really do melt into the skin and blend into a soft powder finish without looking matte. These will be perfect holiday products!

Untitled

here's me wearing no 02. As you can see when blended out it gives a soft flush of colour. They can easily be built up for a more intense look.

I've been reaching for 01 and 02 the most. I can see me wanting to wear 04 more through the summer.

Have you tried the Bourjois Blushes? Are you a cream blush fan?

As M said, we were lucky enough to be sent some of these to review and I was sent 03 and then luckily for me M gave me her 02 as she'd won the competition.

I was so pleased as these are both the shades that I would have picked if given the chance and absolutely love them.
I've been reaching for 02 mainly, as I'm a coral girl through and through but still like my pink days when I feel like being more girly.

These blend like a dream and look so natural. I do like the range of shades, and I'm hoping they bring out some more in the future in more daring shades, like a really bright fuchsia pink!
The formula is so smooth and the colours are still really pigmented so i think they're really impressive.

The design as M said before is great as even though they are only held by a magnet, its so strong that it really does keep them together and there's no risk of it coming open in your bag.

I apply mine using the Real Techniques contour brush from their core collection. I use this for my other cream blush products as its so easy to swirl it onto your cheek bones and blend it in without fear of it creating a strip effect.

These products are great and I can't wait to wear them over the summer, I imagine they will get getting lots of wear!

What do you think of cream blushes? What's your favourite way to apply them?
