Miss Patisserie: Lemon Tea Bath Ball

Good morning!

Last week I was a total rebel and had my completely irregular 'Sunday night bath' on a Monday. Ooh err.

I've saved this bath ball from Miss Patisserie for weeks because it looked so pretty in my bathroom, but it was time to give it a whirl and I was glad I did!

2016-09-19 19.16.29

The Lemon Tea bath ball combines green tea and citrus lemongrass scents for a foamy bath.

I've said many times that citrus is my favourite scent and is the main reason I picked this bath ball up, but the colour matches my bathroom too and the flower is just a pretty addition!

As usual I filled the bath and then spun the bath ball into the water to make sure it fizzed and whirled whilst it dissolved.

2016-09-19 19.18.05

The flower fell off straight away which was maybe a bit disappointing, I was hoping it would spin nicely whilst upright with the flower still in tact...but maybe that's just taking blogger problems a bit far!

However the bath ball didn't disappoint at all, it fizzed for ages and the bath was a lovely aqua colour quite quickly. The bath ball took quite a while to totally dissolve so it was still going long after I'd sunk into the water and got very comfy!

Look how pretty the water is! It's so foamy and I love the aqua colour. The scent was amazing and filled the bathroom with the subtle citrus and tea fragrance.

I still can't stay in baths longer than half an hour but am definitely getting into the whole 'relaxing in a bath with a candle and some music/Netflix on my phone' routine. I still can't do it every week either but at least once a month is good enough for me!

The Lemon Tea Bath Ball costs £3.49, and smells really really lovely!

I'm definitely going to get it again as my bathroom looks much duller without it. I can't wait for another spree in Miss Patisserie as I've got my eye on the Safari and Ziggy bath balls too!

Maybe there will also be some Christmas themed ones coming out soon....I'd really love that if you're reading this Charlotte!!!! :)

What are your favourite products from Miss Patisserie?? I have many especially the more I try, but I'm currently loving the new Coconut Face Soap!

Miss Patisserie Citrine Roll On Eau de Toilette

Morning lovelies!

If you are a long time reader of this blog then you will know that I have a huge love for citrus scents - it's in my perfume, my shower products and candles and diffusers in my house. I can't get enough of it!
As soon as I saw the Citrine roll on in Miss Patisserie I knew it had to be mine.

018

019

The description for this scent from Miss Patisserie is:

A stroll in the garden on an exotic island is the inspiration behind this scent. Green mango, lotus, incense, calamus and sycamore wood are at the heart of this refreshing eau de toilette

I'd say this was pretty accurate, it's so beautiful and refreshing and takes me to a different place for a few seconds - which is sometimes exactly what I need!

The top notes are green mango and lemon, middle notes of lavender and lotus, and base notes of incense and sycamore wood - for those who need to know all of the details!

020

This has been perfect for me to put in my handbag for carrying around day to day, and also for taking on work trips where I can put it in my hand luggage and don't have to worry about exceeding the liquid limits.
I picked up the 10ml perfume which costs £6.99, there are also 30ml and 50ml versions too (£8.99 and £11.99)

021

I love this scent and how easy it is to roll on whenever I need a boost - this isn't just perfume for me to smell nice it's also a scent that gives me a mental boost. It smells like a holiday and takes me away to a paradise island for a few seconds, and everyone needs that right?!

I'd definitely recommend this scent, and I've heard that there is also a scent based on sea salt which I'd love to try as some floral scents can be overwhelming for me and my sensitive nose!

Have you tried one of the scents from Miss Patisserie? Which is your favourite?

Orla Kiely Home Fragrance Collection

Hello there!

I recently wrote a post about how I've just bought my own house - I'm still moving my stuff and still don't have broadband either (let's not even get on that conversation shall we....) but my house is feeling so much more like a home now that it doesn't smell of cleaning or paint.

ORla Kiely have some absolutely amazing products for the home.

308

326

Orla Kiely is relaunching her Home Fragrance collection by adding three new fragrances to the three pre-existing ones, each with their own statements prints.
I was kindly sent the Sicilian Lemon Reed Diffuser and Orange Rind Scented Candle for my new home and I can't have been more pleased with them!

309

310

311

The Sicilian Lemon reed diffuser contains a blend of lemon, mint, frankincense and lavender oils, and to be honest it smells fantastic. I'm a huge lover of citrus and mint scents so this is perfect for me.

The bottle is also beautiful, the pattern is beautiful and typical Orla Kiely. Prints with patterns please me due to their symmetry, this is the kind of bottle that you would be happy to put out on display around your house.

316

330

I can't comment as to how long the scent lasts for as they have been in my house for a week and still going strong as you would expect. The reed diffuser is in the window in my living room that over looks the garden, I can smell it every time I walk through my living room and especially when the doors are open!

The Orange Rind Scented Candle is another amazing product. The pattern is again beautiful and symmetrical and the colours match the scent.

318

319

The candle contains orange rind, sandalwood, eucalyptus and nutmeg for a warming glow that reminds me of winter time as oranges always do - but it isn't a wintery scent at all.

I love the jar that it comes in as it was so simplistic but also comes with a matching coaster to put your candle on, it's touches like this that make a product what it is.

320

328

Here is the candle on my windowsill on the stairs, I'm slowly but surely filling my house with citrus scents and it smells wonderful!

What I love most about these products is that the fragrances are so accurate and not synthetic at all.

332

The Sicilian Lemon Reed Diffuser is 200ml and costs £32, the Orange Rind Scented Candle is 200g and costs £25.
I always think it pays to buy a more expensive home fragrance product, you cannot beat a genuine scent and these are really great.

Do you like Orla Kiely patterns? What's your favourite scent?

Nip and Fab Body Wash - Energy Boost and Detox Blend

Shower gel can be a bit of a boring topic can't it?

Everyone uses it, most people would just use whatever is on offer during their weekly shop and I'm no different. I have been making my way through my stash and have finally used up the Soap and Glory bottle that seem to last for up to 6 months at a time.

However I couldn't resist picking these up from Nip and Fab, on offer at the moment in Superdrug in a buy one get one free offer. If I'm honest £7.50 is a lot for a shower gel but in a deal like this at £3.75 it didn't seem too bad.

040

043

I picked up both the Energy Boost and Detox Blend and have been testing them out.

The Energy Boost Body Wash contains uplifting Lemon, Grapefruit and Sweet Mandarin fragrances. It's a lovely awakening scent which is something to be welcomed in the morning, however it's not as authentic as the Original Source shower gels. I'm a big 'sniffer' of products (if that doesn't sound weird and disgusting) and scents are a big hit or miss for me. This was strangely neither, it had a lot of promise but didn't amount to anything which was a little disappointing.

044

047

The packaging is perfect though, colour coded for each scent and just like the rest of the Nip and Fab skincare range which I really like. I also like that all of the info is on the front of the bottles and just on the one sticker. Its funky and draws your eyes to different areas.

048

The Detox Blend Body Wash contains Tea Tree, Green Tea and Jasmine to purify and detoxify as well as cleanse.
This scent was the same for me, it had lots of promise and whilst I'm grateful that both weren't overpowering (I get headaches from strong smells) they were just a bit too bland and could have had more of a punch, particularly with the lemon.

052

That said they both lathered up easily courtesy of SLS being the second ingredient in the products. I just feel a bit disappointed with these and can't say I would pay the £3 for them again let alone the full price of £7.50.
I'm a self confessed lover of Nip and Fab but feel like these products have misfired and are a bit 'meh' when compared to other products such as their Viper Venom and Dragon's blood ranges (both of which are fabulous!).

051

049

With Original Source recently on offer in Tesco for half price at £1.10 for 250ml or in fact Superdrug who had them for 98p (!) smelling a good ten times better and more authentic than these I know which one I would choose....

I hate to write negative reviews but feel like its necessary sometimes to save another from spending hard earned cash on something that ultimately is a little disappointing - sorry Nip and Fab! It's probably because i have such high expectations from how amazing the skincare range is that this was a bit of a surprise.

Have you tried the body range from Nip and Fab? Are you a fan of authentic scents from real essential oils?

Review: Origin's Modern Friction

If you hadn't noticed, me and M are biiiiiiiiiig fans of Origins.

A few weeks ago we went to a Christmas event at John Lewis Beauty Hall and I spent quite a bit of money on some Origins goodies.

I picked up Modern Friction after wanting it for ages, along with the box set of masks and consequently a goodie bag of samples too.

Origins Skincare

Modern Friction is what Origins call 'natures answer to microdermabrasion'

To me this sounds like an amazing all natural way to resurface and smooth my own skin without blasting it with harsh chemicals and leaving it red raw.

Origins Skincare

This product uses rice to buff the skin into looking fabulous.
You apply to to dry skin normally and then wet it afterwards but for sensitive skin can apply straight into wet skin if you prefer.

It also contains lemon juice which we all know is great for use in scrubs due to its lightly acidic properties, just whatever you do do NOT get this in your eye. Lesson learnt!

I massage this all over my face and neck twice a week and have noticed a massive difference to the texture and overall appearance of my skin.

Origins Skincare

After short term use my skin looked brighter and less grey, definitely from sloughing off the most recent layer of skin.
After longer use my skin surface has definitely improved and I can say it is smoother to touch and also looks more refined.

This product is pretty pricey being around the £31 mark but I believe it's worth every penny and my twice weekly use of the 125ml tube has left me with 3/4 left after 2 months of use.

Origins Skincare

Origins Skincare

As I'd spent a certain amount at the origins counter (sucker!) I also came away with this amazing goody bag!
Check out the beauties in this!

This was exclusive to the event and the Brighter By Nature face pads were alone worth £20 so this was an utter bargain.
We've both been using them for the last few weeks and will be reviewing them shortly!

Have you used Modern Friction before? Would you spend £31 on it?
What Origins product(s) are your favourite?
I just love how natural everything is and it all smells DIVINE!
