Dior Masterclass Splendour Event

Well hello there!

Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to a Dior Masterclass with one of our favourites, the lovely Anthony from Ant Gorgeous

He put on a lovely event where we were able to sit and watch him create a make up look on his gorgeous model and learn a few tips and tricks!

We sat down in the meeting room and were offered champagne and cakes, it had an afternoon tea theme which was lovely.

We sat and went through a number of products and got to try them all out on ourselves, which as we all know is the best thing you can offer make up obsessed people!

The Dior Hydra Life Pro Youth Sorbet Creme felt lovely on your skin and absorbed really well. The lipstick and Lip Maximizer lipgloss were both gorgeous too, I have heard so many good things about the Lip Maximizer and apparently Kylie Jenner uses it so you know it must be good!

A particular favourite was the DiorSkin Forever and Ever Wear, Extreme Perfection and Hold Make Up Base. This was a lovely thin fluid and created a lovely base on your skin, it didn't feel tacky but it did feel like it would hold your foundation for a full day.

The DiorSkin Nude Air Luminizer powder is stunning, such a pretty glow but the pattern is so pretty it would be hard to use!

The Dior Show Brow Styler was a big hit for everyone, it's so thin that creating brows from nothing is so easy. The styler allows you to draw on individual hairs to create a really natural look and it blends easily too.

The collection that everyone couldn't take their eyes off was the Splendour collection, this years festive range was beautiful and the colours are stunning. The eyeshadow palette containing five colours is a highlight and I know will be popular. There are also single eyeshadowsavailable in 8 colours, 2 different types of lipsticks, a lip and cheek tint available in four colours, a blush, nail varnish and illuminating pressed powder.

The colour ranges are typically reds and pinks for the lips and nails, and shimmery metallics for the eye products. Whatever you think of when you see the word Splendour, these are exactly the type of products you would expect.

You can see the swatches on my hand above, the liner, the eyeshadows, the lipstick, lipgloss and blush. Beautiful colours!

It was a lovely evening, I picked up a few things including my favourite DiorSkin Forever  Foundation and also a lipstick. I love the DiorSkin Forever Foundation and the finish it has, but also love that it has SPF35 and no flashback at all. I chose a Dior Addict lipstick in Be Dior, it was my first lipstick from this range so I'm looking forward to using it.

We were also given a gift bag containing a few things I haven't tried before so cannot wait to try them out too!

Dior Christmas Collection

Good morning lovelies!

Today we have a quick post on a lovely blogger event that we went to in Dior in Debenhams Cardiff. The lovely Anthony who we have previously met when he worked for Benefit put on a lovely product showcase for the latest collection for the festive season.

So without further ado here are some pictures!

I absolutely love Anthony, he's so cute and has the most perfect eyebrows - he's exactly the kind of person you want to do your make up! He took us through a look on a model who also has the most amazing brows, you can see the look being created in the image below.

On arrival we were given champagne and a luminous pink wristband to identify us as VIPs - this was a lovely touch!

However the most important thing is the new range:

How many beautiful products are there! The highlighters are so soft and shimmery and the two types of eyeshadow palettes are perfect for the festive season.

The range of lipsticks is also really really good - I mean look at them there is a colour for everyone. I'd personally choose Magique by default but Troublante is a lovely dark colour for winter seasons.

Untitled

We both now have our eyes on the Dior Addict Fluid Shadow in Univers - such a beautiful bronzey rose gold. It's perfect for day and night and just so perfectly smooth in consistency. This is a real winner for the festive season full of parties and events.

As always we were obsessing over the lipsticks, the colour range for the full collection is also great and I've long lusted over them. One day I will own them all!

One of the products we couldn't wait to try out was the Airflash Spray Foundation. This can be used as a quick spray in the morning for a thin coating of foundation, or over your normal face of make up for an airbrush finish. When Anthony sprayed this onto the models face it was truly amazing - every tiny flaw that was still present was completely blurred out and the finish was perfection!

It felt wonderfully light on the skin and was such an easy step to finish any make up look. I picked up the Dior Skin foundation as I've bought it previously and loved it, however I am 100% sure that I will be back very soon to pick up a few more goodies.

Have you purchased anything from the Dior Festive Collection? Have you seen anything you might want to pick up?

Review: Dior DiorSkin Forever Foundation

I am not sure what has taken me so long to write this post as I bought this foundation before Christmas in the Boots 3 for 2 spend over £60 and get £10 of points offer thing.

I went crazy and got Coralista (review here), Origins Make A Difference Moisturiser (review coming soon!) and then this....Dior Skin Forever Foundation.

First up let's talk about the packaging:

What a beautiful white bag! I love the thick card that makes this bag and the gold and white ribbon tying it together looks amazing. So simple but chic.

When I got home I also found a load of samples in my bag!

Look at that haul! Perfumes, moisturisers and serums, how lush.

The blue box of the foundation was unexpected, I just assumed it would be black like everything else as this was my first Dior purchase.
But I quite like the navy blue colour and it's a little different from other brands yet still quite classic.

As you can see from the box I am colour 010, which is the lightest colour available.
This blends perfectly with my skin as I'm quite pale (NC15/20) but I feel they could go paler.

I took a photo of the blurb on the box for you to see.
I hadn't heard anything about Dior foundations if I'm honest and pretty much bought it on a whim.
One of the girls on the counter I've spoken to a few times was working and I needed to make my money up to £60 so I told her to sell me something haha.

I had no idea how much I was missing this from my life!

The bottle is beautiful (though really hard to not get finger prints all over!), I love the matte effect glass and the lid is quite chunky and feels nice and sturdy.

It also has SPF25 which is amazing for a foundation. Many have SPF 10 but don't normally have a high level like this.

I apply this like all my foundations, using my Real Techniques buffing brush and it goes on perfectly.
It's really easy to build up and cover certain areas but it doesn't feel cakey at all.

It has a semi matte finish which is perfect for me as I don't want it to be too matte but dewy foundations can make me look shiny.

In short I absolutely love it!

The photo on the left shows just the foundation, and on the right shows with Benefit's Coralista and Dallas.

What do you think of it? I think it covers well but doesn't look cakey.

For the time being, most other foundations have been completely forgotten about and I can see this is going to turn into an expensive habit of mine!

Also, I love how many sample items you get. I have always wanted to try out the Dior perfumes and some of their skin care has really good reviews.

I've been using the night cream for the past few nights and it's so thick and luxurious!

What do you think of Dior make up an foundations? Do you prefer high end or high street?

As my first high end foundation (exclusive of Mac) I can see how it costs extra and love the added benefits.

Also on a side note.....this foundations smells DIVINE!! It's so fruity and fresh smelling, not like some others...
