Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed Deep Pore Detox Mask

Evening all

Another late post from me. Time seems to be escaping me at the moment. Life is definitely getting in the way. When I was at home over Christmas I ran out of cleanser so decided to pick up a favourite of mine the Peaches and Clean Soap & Glory one. When I was in boots the Soap & Glory skincare was on 3 for 2 and I couldn't resist trying a few new products.

My skin has been bad lately. My own fault as I keep breaking the all important rule and end up sleeping in my make up at least once a week! I've been using Lush facemasks but had run out and this seemed like a great pick me up for my blocked pores.

Untitled

I love that it's a self heating mask. Not only does it make my face toasty while it's cold outside I feel like the heat is great for blocked pores as it helps to open them to draw out all the gunk.

I did make the mistake of not shaking this the first time and it can be a little watery if you don't. I can see this lasting really well as all you need is a grape sized blob to cover your whole face.

I love that it doesn't feel tight on the skin. It has the texture of a mud mask but as you rub it in when applied you end up with a thin layer and don't feel the uncomfortable tightness or cracking. The tube makes it easy to get out just the right amount of product and I think it'll be good to minimise waste.

The mask is meant to turn blue when rubbed in. Personally it looks the same colour to me. I'm really enjoying using this at the moment. I think it's helping to control my spots and my face feels clearer and cleaner afterwards. It's definitely a good one for pores and breakouts. I love the warmth for winter!

It's currently on offer in boots for £7.67

Murad Event

I was lucky enough to be invited to London to the launching of a new Murad product at the Mayfair Hotel a little while ago. The hotel was obviously stunning and I can't not mention how amazing the place smelt when you walked in. I could sit and breathe in that smell all day! They must pump it through the air con as it was a gorgeous scent.

I was escorted to the lift on arrival and told directions to the Amber Suite where the event was taking place.

122

We were met with champagne, diet coke, flavoured water, cupcakes, popcorn and nibbles which was lovely.

123

124

We were lucky enough to meet both of the Murad's themselves; both Dr Howard Murad the brains behind the brand originally and his son Jeff Murad who has now taken over the development and production side of the business.

It was great to hear from both of them and really interesting to hear exactly how their new products work.
I loved listening to the explanation as being a scientist things made sense and I was pleased as although I'm scientifically inclined I don't deal with skin in any way at all!

129

132

What I love about Murad as a brand is that they don't just deal with the skin on your face as most other brands do, they deal with you as a person and understand the pressures of everyday life, general stress and environmental issues.

037

When leaving we were given a goody bag containing a gorgeous stripy make up bag and a full size of their new Pore and Line Minimising Hydrator.

The biggest introduction from the event was their new Replenicell technology. Basically Murad have created a new type of water. Water cannot pass through your skin and so applying products containing water actually dries your skin out.
Murad have created a new type of water where the water molecules are attached to special molecules which can pass through the bilayer of your skin, and therefore hydrate your skin at a greater rate than other products from other brands.

041

To me this sounds very scientific but also so simple, why on earth hasn't anyone ever done this before?!
But Murad are known for being innovators in skincare and were the first to use glycolic acid in the way that it is so commonly used now for resurfacing etc.

You can read the vital points of the moisturiser on the box in the picture above.
These kind of claims always excite me, but I know having used Murad product before that if they're not 100% fulfilled they will definitely have a positive effect on my skin and I cannot wait to start using it.

049

If you check back for my review in a few weeks I will endeavour to explain the Replenicell technology a little further for anyone wanting a fuller explanation.
I will also be sharing the terrifying image of my face under UV light and therefore all of the sun and environmental damage that I have....eeek.

A little message from the inside of the box.....Dr Howard Murad is full of these little quotes and I absolutely love them!
It was a pleasure to meet him and hear from his son about the new products too and I thoroughly enjoyed myself meeting lots of new people.

What's your thoughts on Murad? Which is your favourite product?

Review: Good Things Deep Pore Anti Blemish Cleanser

Hi there!

A bright and early post from me today, it's apparently summer so I thought I'd get in early with this very fruity and summery cleanser from 'Good Things'.

Good Things is a brand that I have funnily enough, heard good things about. But having never tried a product from them I didn't know this for myself and just had to believe the hype.

Whilst picking up presents for an American friend (for a swap) Boots conveniently had a 3 for 2 deal on skincare so I obviously got something for myself in the 'free' part.

As I'm on a ban this was debatable as to whether I'd broken it...but as it was free and I ensured this product was cheaper than the ones I was getting for a friend I considered it acceptable...do you agree??

What shocked me most was the price of this one!

Review: Origins Clear Improvement

I picked this up over a month ago when L and I went to a beauty event at John Lewis. Lots of the counters were offering good deal when things were purchased. Origins was one of them. I wanted a new mask and had heard so many great things about Clear Improvement I decided to pick it up.

Clear Improvement is a mask aimed to deep clean skin and unclog pores. You get 100ml of product for £20 which I think is quite reasonable as it is a large tube and better than lush products as it lasts longer than a month. I've found lush counter staff are great to chat to about skin issues and are happy to give you samples of products to try.

I like the packaging. A tube for a mask is easy to just squeeze out when you are in the bath. My does look a bit dirty in some of the photos are the mask is black so that does stick around the lid.

I tend to use it after using my Liz Earle cleanse and polish so my skin is clean and the warmth of the muslim cloth means my pores are open. This mask dries onto the skin as it's a clay mask. I like to use it in the bath so I can really sit back and relax and keep my face really still. The addition of charcoal to this mask helps to draw out the impurities in the pores.

The ingredients contain nothing that stands out as immediately bad for the skin. As you may know both L have certain chemicals we try to avoid in products. Origins is a company both L and I love. It has such a great range of products that really work. We are both loving the enzyme pads we got free and will be reviewing them soon.

Attractive mask shot. I love this mask it really cleans out my pores and leaves my skin looking much better. I really want to try out of trouble and modern friction soon as L raves about both of these.

What's your favourite mask? Are you an origins fan?
