Lush - The Experimenter Bath Bomb*

Hey All

A few weeks ago we popped to an event at Lush Cardiff to see some of the new products (you can read this post here!) we were given a few goodies to try and after seeing this one in action I was excited to see it in my bag!

Lush The Experimenter Bath Bomb

You can't help but be drawn to this amazing brightly coloured bath bomb. It's got all the colours. If I'm honest I was too busy dropping it in my bath to see all the colours to sniff it. It contains tonka and vanilla though which are two fragrances I love in Lush products!

Here you can see some of the glitter in the bath bomb. It's a subtle shimmer one so you won't step out of the bath looking like a twilight extra!

It is one of the prettiest bath bombs to watch and leaves amazing colour swirls reminding me of some of the bright 90's tie dye! It also gives a nice little bubble when it's fizzing away so you can see all the colours!

As it spreads out in the bath it leaves lush pastel colours and sparkly water, I couldn't get the shimmer in the water to show fully but it was gorgeous!!

The experimenter retails for £3.95 but is a big colourful explosion! This is definitely one I'll be repurchasing!

Have you tired it yet?

Review: Lush Twilight Bath Bomb

Hey

Hope you've all had a great weekend. Mine has been spent moving. I've learnt the hard way never live in a fourth floor flat with no lift. My parents kindly came to move me but both got tired quickly and as they had a drive back to Somerset I did most of the second load. I'm now rather achy. But it was good training for Tough Mudder.

As I was so achy I decided to pop to Lush on Sunday and pick myself up a bath bomb as a treat and enjoy a relaxing bath. I tend to easily get stuck in a rut and not try new bath bombs and bubble bars in Lush so I decided to chat to one of the ladies and take a suggestion.

Untitled

I fancied something relaxing and she suggested Twilight and Christmas Pud. I went for Twilight after it was demonstrated for me. I was so impressed with how bubbly it was.

Untitled

Twilight is a pretty pink bath bomb with stars imprinted in the top. I wanted something lavender to really relax my achy muscles. I loved the soft smell of this and the fact it wasn't overpowering.

When the Twilight hits the bath it fizzes away pink. It leaves an impressive foam for a bath bomb.

Untitled

Once part of the outer core has cracked blue starts to fizz away. I love that on mine some of the shell stayed intact longer than the core so the blue really fizzed away.

Untitled

The bath was left the colour of a Twilight sky with a silver glitter running through!! So So So pretty, but best of all for me. No staining on the bath or messy clean up.

Untitled

This is a really big bath bomb and gave a nice effect in the bath as well as leaving it rather bubbly for a bath bomb. It left my skin really soft and with a subtle scent. It also doesn't leave you glittery.

Untitled

This is definitely one I'll be repurchasing!! As it is one of the larger ones it does retail for £3.25.

Have you tried twilight?

I'm such a bath person and love to have a good relax once a week with face packs!

Lush Snowman Bath Bomb

When I headed to the pre launch of the Lush Christmas range (see here) I couldn't resist picking up this little fella. It was a tough choice between the snowman and the penguin bubble bar.

Untitled

I love how cute this is with the little red scarf  and orange nose. He's also very reasonably priced at £2.50. The scent was definitely a deciding factor and I was told it's similar to butterball which made me want it even more. It's a soft sweet scent that isn't overpowering but gives of a nice subtle scent of vanilla.

Untitled

The Snowman is a decent size bath bomb and gives off good fizz. I did wonder what colour the water would be as it is predominately white. A part of me hoped he'd have a surprise centre!

As he whizzed around the bath it left a red trail which settled to soft pink water once it was all gone. The best thing about the snowman is actually also the worst but I'll explain that later.

I loved that once it disolved in the water there were chunks of cocoa butter left over meaning I could rub this into my skin and be left with silky smooth skin. I love the smell of cocoa butter and this was one of the reasons I picked it up.

It's a perfect one for winter months as it leaves skin with that little extra moisture after a nice soak in the bath!

Untitled

The downside it the cocoa butter leaves a residue around the bath that the red seems to stick too. It looks pretty messy but luckily left no staining in my bath as I washed it all out straight after!

Not one to stock up on as it is basically the same as butterball but it's a great price and added red colour makes a bath more interesting.
