Skincare is one of my favourite topics, I always loved it when Caroline Hirons says:
If you would spend more on shoes, handbags, lipstick, jeans or fashion in general than you would on high quality skincare – you will be a sixty year old woman (and man) with a vintage wardrobe and a face like an alligator

And I absolutely agree. Ever since reading this way back when it was first published in 2012 I've been putting skincare at the top of my list but sadly my budget isn't the same (nor do we get the same PR packages!) as Caroline so it's taken me a little longer to get round to trying everything she recommends. The Pixi Glow Tonic has been on my list for such a long time,
This tonic is a cult beauty product and has been raved about for so long. It almost put me off buying it because I didn't want to be another person who just added to the mix.
It is an exfoliating toner containing aloe vera, ginseng and a variety of botanical extracts as well as the biggie, 5% glycolic acid. The combination of these ingredients helps to perfect skin tone and texture, soothe skin an accelerate skin renewal.
Not only all of this but it's alcohol free, suitable for vegans and vegetarians and you can use it on even the most sensitive of skin. It's also BUAV/Cruelty Free International approved so we're huge fans of this!
All you need to do is swipe it onto your skin with a cotton pad after cleansing both morning and evening.
I've been using this for a while now since Christmas and really love it. It doesn't cause my skin to tingle or react in anyway and apart from the great results I wouldn't even know I was using an acid twice a day on my face.
After using it for a few days my skin felt smoother and some spots disappeared. It's not a wonder tonic and resolves all issues overnight, but it does definitely help all skin issues over time. My skin was definitely more uniform and looked brighter after using it for a week.
One thing to note is that they recommend using an SPF during the day because your skin can become more sensitive, but you're all doing that already....right?!
All in all I've been left wondering why I was so stubborn in the first place in trying not to jump on the bandwagon....because it is well and truly deserved! After a few days of use I feel like my skin absorbs other products better too, so this can only be a good thing.
I'd definitely recommend picking this up, you can find it on a few retailers online but also Marks and Spencer (if you're quick they currently have a deal on with a free gift when you buy two Pixi products!)
This has been a great first product from Pixi and I'd love to try more from them, particularly the Double Cleanse collab with the fabulous Caroline Hirons and also the overnight serum. I can see a splurge on my next pay day!
