The Mulberry Bar at the Celtic Manor Resort

Have you heard about the fabulous new bar in the Celtic Manor?

The new Mulberry Bar opened recently and we were invited to go and check it out. Having visited Celtic Manor previously for afternoon tea and spa weekends we couldn't wait to see the new bar and see what it had to offer.

First off on arrival you notice how gorgeous the decor is - it has 1920s Great Gatsby vibe and I loved the marble tables, velvet walls and chandeliers. It's elegant and very grown up.

I love the entrance too, with the frosted doors and lanterns, it feels exclusive and somewhere you could go in and forget the outside world for a bit.

The bar itself is well stocked and there are many many different spirits here that I would love to try out! They have a huge range of gins and whiskies in particular but the cocktail menu is impressive. The most popular cocktail is the Candy Floss Royal, pictured on the bar in the image below. It's made by pouring Black Muscat and champagne over candy floss - I heard it is amazing!

I had the unfortunate task of driving this evening so cocktails weren't on my menu, but everyone else around me were tucking into a variety of drinks that looked amazing. Not only did they include the Candy Floss Royal but I also saw some others involving dry ice and they all looked stunning.

I had a mocktail (although in this bar they aren't called mocktails at all!) and I chose a drink called Cinderella - it's a pineapple juice based drink with strawberries and orange and it was so tasty. There is also a Basil and Lychee Mojito and Apple Garden Cooler on the alcohol free menu which both sound amazing so I didn't feel I was missing out too much.

We were also treated to some canapes whilst there and the tray of desserts was particularly interesting. I chose the rose, pistachio and chocolate option which was tasty if a little heavy on the rose, I did feel like I was exhaling rose fumes after eating. The other option had a syringe of jam to add which also looked incredible.

Not only do they have an impressive range of gins on the menu but they have an entire trolley of gin they can bring to you and serve you whatever you order.

Another favourite? The cheese trolley. There is a trolley full of cheese that they bring to you for snacks with a selection of port, what's not to love?!

It was a great evening and I'd love to go back and experience more of the cocktails. It would be an expensive evening with the cocktails costing ~£15 each, and a G&T around £9 but these aren't your average drinks options. And if Bradley Walsh and Daniel Baldwin approve then who am I to say otherwise??

They even have a few classes coming up soon including a Whiskey Tasting class and Mixology classes - I'd love to know how to mix up cocktails properly!

Have you been to the Celtic Manor? Would you try out the new Mulberry Bar? It's somewhere I would recommend going for a treat and an indulgent evening.
