Hello!
Recently we went to a gorgeous event thanks to Salon Success, they took us out to Porro in Cardiff for an amazing meal and we went home with a lovely selection of goodies.
Knowing my love for deep hair treatments they gave me a great set specifically for hydrating hair, and even better it smells of lavender and mint!

This set from Paul Mitchell contains a shampoo, conditioner and body bar all scented with lavender and mint.
I was so excited when I saw this in my set and couldn't wait to give it a try. Going home for Christmas and then travelling for work meant it took a little longer than I'd planned but this was a lovely treat for my hair when I got home!!
The shampoo was obviously the first product I tried and it smells SO GOOD. I couldn't stop sniffing the bottle nor the suds on my hair and it really is a treat, it's a really authentic smell and I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed it. I instantly felt relaxed but also revived, mint is a favourite scent of mine for this reason alone!
You only need a really small amount too and it lathered up really quickly and left my hair feeling clean after just the one wash. The best part about this shampoo is it's gluten free, vegan and colour safe so you don't need to worry about any negative effects of colour stripping.
The shampoo is for coarse and unruly hair, which isn't how I would describe my hair but that might be because of all the extra hydration I put into it on a regular basis! My hair is fine but I have a lot of it and it's long, so it needs the hydration.

After rinsing this out I grabbed the conditioner and tried this out. It has a handy pump which I quite like although if I'm being picky I would like to be able to shut the pump for travel and I couldn't get mine to do this. I was away for the weekend at the time so was a bit concerned I was going to get home to a suitcase full of it but I managed to cushion it with enough flannels!
Obviously it has the same great scent and the product itself glided over my hair so it didn't feel too thick or disappear into nothing either.

I left this on for a few minutes whilst I washed with the body bar, by the end of it I smelled wonderful and it will be extremely difficult for me to use anything in future that doesn't smell as fabulous as this awesome trio!
The bar contains tea tree oil to help cleanse and also parsley flakes to help exfoliate. This lathered up easily too and added to the whole experience, I can't say I use a bar very often as shower gel is always easier but this was a really good alternative and I've been enjoying using it.
I often drop it in the shower still, but does anyone really stop doing that? Is there a special technique to never drop soap or am I just destined to chase it around the shower every time?!
My hair and body felt pretty good after using all of these in combination with each other. The hair products contain amino acids to improve shine, strength and manageability so no wonder I love them so much, I cannot deal with unruly hair!
Another very important fact to remind you about Paul Mitchell is that they are completely cruelty free...win!
M has been cruelty free for a while now and I'm definitely leaning the same way. I haven't managed to say goodbye to all of my favourites yet but I would certainly choose a company who do not test on animals over one that does. I think being aware is the most important factor, and there are so many alternatives lately why would you still need to buy products tested on animals?!

The set costs around £30 online and I would fully recommend it. Whether it's a payday treat for yourself or as a gift it feels like a whole experience to use these in the bath or shower as the scent is so relaxing and my hair felt amazing afterwards. I actually think I could go an extra day or two before washing my hair again after using these which is a small miracle for me. I could definitely drag it out longer but I don't like my dark hair to look greasy, so I end up washing it every 2/3 days. Well I managed 4 without even noticing after using this so a professional shampoo and conditioner clearly have many additional perks!
Have you tried the Lavender Mint Hydrating products from Paul Mitchell? Do you love scent combinations like this?
Let me know if you try it, I'd love to know your thoughts!!
