Hello everyone!
I have written a few things about some products from Kiehl's recently, I wrote about the original event (click here) and also the Daily Reviving Concentrate (click here)
As well as this I have been using the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which I'm sure you have heard of before, it is pretty famous around the world for its hydrating properties as well as reaching the 'blogger hype' status because everyone loves it. So what did I think??

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a facial oil containing botanical ingredients such as Evening Primrose, Lavender Essential Oil and Squalene. The ingredients are 99.8% naturally derived and paraben and mineral oil free.
The instructions say to use 2-3 drops, warm between your fingers and apply to your face by pressing the product into your skin before massaging it in.
The bottle is made of recycled glass, including the dropper and the squeeze top is also made of recycled plastic, I think this is great to use recycled products.
The packaging is also in a lovely dark indigo colour, exactly what you would expect for a product with 'Midnight' in the title. I like the contract between this and the Daily Reviving Concentrate in a sunshine yellow, they definitely make a good team together.
I've been using this for a number of months now and I really like it. I have to use more like 5 drops on my skin, but it is exceptionally dehydrated and I always need to add more. I was concerned that this product might overload my skin especially as although it's dry my skin is also still oily around the t-zone.
However using this has definitely helped to hydrate my skin, and I still apply a moisturiser or face mask over the top without any issues. My skin has felt a lot more comfortable than it was before when I wasn't using an oil and I've learned a lot more about laying products since using it!
I can't say I've noticed any visual changes of smaller lines in my face because I've been concentrating on hydrating my skin and luckily don't have many at the moment, but my skin does feel a lot smoother and hydrated after using this oil.
I've really enjoyed using this and the scent is also very relaxing, so putting it on before bed is now part of a ritual and it helps me to relax and get comfortable before sleeping.
I purchased the 30ml bottle which costs £37. I am all for investing in my skin and I'd rather pay out on skincare than anything else, but this is too expensive for me. I'd repurchase this but likely only on occasions when I am feeling particularly rich as this isn't something I could buy regularly.
That said, the bottle has lasted me a long time and I haven't even used a quarter of it yet! So that's almost 3 months usage, meaning it would take me a year to use the bottle which doesn't sound too bad.
So overall I would say that this is a fabulous product and does exactly what it says it should. You can also use this oil as a treat for your hands, to help you relax by placing it directly onto your temples and breathing in the scent, adding a few drops to your bath and also your body moisturiser for an extra treat. I will be trying out the bath time addition as the smell of lavender definitely helps me to relax!
The ONLY real downside to this product is that Kiehls are not cruelty free. M went cruelty free last year and no longer purchases anything that is tested on animals. I haven't yet made the full switch, but every time I purchase something I do question whether I could buy another product with similar results that hasn't been tested on animals.
The answer is almost always yes, and I can find a similar product that is cruelty free and most of the time it is cheaper too. This is getting much easier than it was before and many local companies offer products that are similar and are not tested on any animals.
Hopefully Kiehls will consider this and change their policy soon!
Have you tried the Midnight Recovery Concentrate? Are you happy to pay £37 for a facial oil?
What do you think about products that have been tested on animals?
