Label.m Honey and Oat Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave In Conditioner

A few week ago we were contacted by Label.m to see if we would like to try out their new Honey and Oat range.
Having tried their Protein Spray and absolutely love it (our post is here) we were really excited to try these as well.

The packaging is great, simple monochrome colours in square shaped bottles with rounded edges.

I've mentioned a zillion times how much I love simple so these tick all the boxes for me.
These Honey and Oat products were formulated for dry and dehydrated hair, which both me and M suffer with due to highlights and styling (doesn't everyone!).

The first thing I can tell you about these products is that they both smell AMAZING. Such a warm and comforting smell, I couldn't stop sniffing it in the shower!

The shampoo foams up really easily and my hair felt really clean without feeling stripped, which is probably down to the honey oat and sea kelp added in for moisture, strengthening and gloss. I love that it also contains an 'Enviroshield Complex' to protect hair from heat styling and UV rays.

The conditioner felt more like a lotion than other products which have felt heavier, and it seems to glide through the hair. The conditioner also contains Sea Cabbage for additional moisture and it doesn't feel heavy at all.

The leave in conditioner felt more like a serum to me, it was so light it was almost like a gel consistency and when applied to the hair didn't feel heavy at all. This uses ginger, ginseng, bergamot, juniper, mandarin orange and vanilla to enhance layers and control frizz for soothing and strengthening hair.

Having used all three for the past week or two my hair feels so much better, it feels cleaner and lasts longer between washes, and feels smoother and stronger than it did before.
It seems to be behaving a lot better style wise as well, which makes life a whole lot easier doesn't it!

I'm normally quite lucky with my hair as it's generally quite resilient but using these products has shown me how much better it could be. I'm not one to spend more on haircare for this reason but this collection of products is definitely worth the money and I think they're reasonably priced for the effects you get from them.

After being so pleased with the other Label.m products we tried I was so excited to try these, especially as they are for dry damaged hair.

Firstly the smell of these won me over straight away, it smells amazing!! Sweet but not overly. The shampoo gave a good lather and left my hair feeling clean. Another good thing for me is that it didn't make my hair fall out as I've found with cheaper shampoos.

The conditioner was definitely my favourite. It was a lightweight conditioner so didn't weigh down my fine hair. Even though it was lightweight it definitely has helped make my recently bleached hair more manageable. I also like that silicone isn't one of the main ingredients. It is on the list but almost one of the last ones.

Leave in conditioner isn't something I usually use. I've been using this after shampooing and conditioning and applying just to the ends of my hair. These are really damaged at the moment so I'm trying my best to improve this. The leave in conditioner has helped prevent my hair from becoming tangled and makes it easier to comb when wet.

As my hair is dyed and processed a lot I always find I need better hair care for it and tend to go for more expensive brands as I find my hair reacts better to them and cheaper shampoos just don't work for me. I personally prefer to pay more for hair care.

Essie Nudes

Good morning!

I've been meaning to write this post for a while.

I love Essie, I love nudes and I love the massive range of nude colors they have.
And obviously everyone raves over them which doesn't help when trying to choose a colour.

I've picked up some of the favourites and thought I'd show them side by side for comparison.

Firstly, Fiji was my latest purchase and one I haven't yet posted, so here's some standard pictures of the product and it on the nails!

It's a very white pink, and a lot thicker than some other polishes. This is 2 coats:

As a refresher this is Ballet Slippers:

It's a very light pink colour that's very sheer and requires a few coats for opacity.

This is Sand Tropez:

Sand Tropez is a more beige colour.

Between the three of these i feel they cover the sheer nude (Ballet Slippers), the opaque light pink (Fiji) and toffee beige (Sand Tropez).

I've put them on nails next to each other in the pictures below, first shows 1 coat, the second shows 2 with a flash.





You can see the colour difference and the difference in opactity clearly here, which is something that is really hard to see in other posts about the same products.
I love and use all three of these products equally, which goes to show there's a nude for every occasion and more than one is definitely necessary!
If you're looking for a good range of nudes I'd definitely recommend these three as they're different enough but similar that they'd suit most skin tones and be acceptable for any event!

Coconut Oil

Happy Friday to everyone!!

I'm here today with a bargain beauty treat.

Everyone who's anyone has been talking and raving about coconut oil for ages. The health benefits are so extensive, not only can you slap it straight onto your skin and hair but you can also cook with it creating amazing tasting dishes whilst also being low in bad fats.

I have been looking for ages for a tub of this but could only find large tubs for large amounts.....which put me off.

I did however find this bargain in Superdrug (thanks to M for telling me about it!) and snapped it up for a mere £1.78.

This tub of Coconut Oil is not the pure and organic product that you can cook with, but for £1.78 I was prepared to give it a go on my patches of dry skin and chemically treated hair.

You can't cook with it because it's hydrogenated and also contains parfum (which is a little annoying...) but for such a small amount of money I just didn't care!

The oil is a solid white product at room temp but as soon as you scoop a bit out (try a spoon or get it under your nails - like i did!) it melts pretty quickly.

It feels so odd to apply this straight to dry hair but this is exaclty what you need to do and depending how dry your hair is, leave it on for a specific amount of time.
I left it on for a couple of hours before washing it out and conditioning as normal. It left my hair so silky smooth I couldn't believe it.

I also put it on my dry skin patches such as elbows and knees and it sinks in so easily and my skin is no longer dry at all.

I really would recommend this for such a bargain price!

Wedding No.1

Morning lovelies!

I mentioned last weekend that I had the pleasure of going to the first of my friends weddings, and it was absolutely beautiful!
It was such a nice day and everything was exactly how she wanted it so that's all that matters.

Here's a few pictures from the big day, I hope you enjoy them!

I curled my hair with a wand and then brushed it out so it looked big and bouncy and a bit more natural than perfect ringlets. I prefer my hair to look like this and wish it looked like this always!

I had a bit of a heart attack/dance around the room when I cut the label off my dress. It was a bit of a splash out for me a few months ago when I picked it up and i was so excited to wear it!

Here it is on me:

I love the colour and style, it was so simple and perfect for the wedding I was going to.
I was a bit uncomfortable in it after wearing it for so many hours though, the material doesn't stretch at all and wasn't the most comfortable for breathing....which is a bit vital!
I'd already bought the dress in a bigger size to do up over my boobs so I knew it wasn't tight anywhere else, obviously I'm not used to wearing dresses made from material as good a quality as LK Bennett!

One of my favourite things was the really cute sweet stand! I helped myself to some nougat and jelly sweets!

They also handed out welsh cakes after the ceremony which was a really nice touch.

The bride had gone the extra mile to add lots of extra touches including making her own confetti from love stories, putting tissues wrapped up in ribbon on the church pews and flowers EVERYWHERE.

The table decorations were these huuuuuge candelabras surrounded by flowers at the bottom and there was copious amounts of wine and champagne flowing.

The bride even provided flip flops in a basket for all the girls to change into from heels! Mine even matched my dress ;)

And not only was there a sit down meal but later on there was curly fries and a bacon butty! I loved how normal that was as it was perfect for a few hours of drinking!

The venue was stunning too, huge ceilings, massive chandeliers and gorgeous decor.

This is a full length picture my friend took of me on the night, it was such a great day and I am so pleased my friend enjoyed her day as much as she hoped.

Do you have many friends getting married this year or next?

This wedding was a big budget one, I have a second wedding coming up in September which is a lower budget and I'm so looking forward to it!

What would your ideal outfit be? Are you planning your own wedding?

I'm so far away from getting married but I do love hearing about other peoples plans!
