They're Real Dupe

Morning All

I'm sure most of us have tried or at least heard of the legendary They're Real. L and I are both fans of the mascara and Benefit in general. I'm so skint at the moment but so always after an alternative to my high end items work as well. As I was applying my Bourjois Fan-tastic Volume mascara the other day I realised it gave similar results. On the photos below TR is the eye with They're Real on and FV is the eye with Fan-tastic Volume on.

Here is one coat of each.

Untitled

After one coat Fan-Tastic Volume hasn't added much volume but has really lengthened my lashes. They're Real has added more volume and darker the lash line more.

Untitled

After two coats Fan-Tastic volume starts to add volume and really thicken the lashes. They're really has added more volume at the lash line.

Untitled

This shows how messy the eyes get. I find I always get mascara along my lash line.

Untitled

After three coat Fan-Tastic volume really looks great. It completely separates the lashes and adds volume without clumping. With They're Real I think three coats is too much for my taste persoanlly and looks clumpy.

Untitled

This picture really shows the difference in the length they add to the lashes. It's not the best quality as it's from my front facing camera. Sorry

Untitled

I will say I think my They're Real has only been open a few weeks so is still a little wet but I can say I now definitely prefer the Bourjois version. It adds so much length and volume to my lashes and doesn't clump. I do prefer it when it's been open a few weeks but for me this is the way with all mascaras. At £9.99 it's cheaper and it's a lot easier to remove!

Here is the original review of Fan-Tastic Volume. L has reviewed They're Real here. You can see They're Real on my lashes here and here.

Are you a They're Real fan? Would you consider this dupe?

NOTD White Nails

Evening All

I'm just cwtched up on the sofa waiting for Made in Chelsea. I've finally managed to stop biting my nails again! I'm so pleased I managed to go through all my exams without biting any of them.

Untitled

Untitled

I've been loving being able to paint them loads again and find having them painted helps me to stop biting them. I'm not the tidiest at painting them so please ignore that.

Untitled

My housemate has been recently painting her nails white and I love the look. I'm thinking I'll do them white for my brother's wedding with glitter on. They'll be perfect for Cyprus with a tan.

I find white just looks clean and tidy. It can look messy though and the brightness of white I find highlights mistakes. It can also be hard to find a good white that looks opaque and not streaking. I've been using the white from my Guerlain french manicure set. It's amazing after two coats!

Today rather than glitter I decided to add a top coat of OPI alter ego. It just gives a soft peal finish.

What's your thoughts on white nails?

Life Update

Hey there!

Today's post is a sort of photo diary of the last few weeks. M is doing her Colour Run today in London which I'm sure most of you have heard of! Mine is in Bristol and will be in 3 weeks and I cannot wait.

M won tickets on Friday for a rugby and music festival in Cardiff which we were VERY excited about, we didn't have any plans before it so it was a lovely surprise to find out we could go to this!

Untitled

It was the Cardiff 7's Festival of Sport and Music and runs over 2 days. As M is away today we just went yesterday and watched a lot of rugby matches! We had to restrain ourselves from staring at their beautiful shoulder and muscley thighs!

Luckily for us there was also lots of food outlets for us to try things from, we couldn't resist the wood fired pizza van and made a bee line for it! We split 2 pizzas as we couldn't decide what flavours to get and went for a margherita and a chicken, bacon and pesto one. They were amazing and there was so much cheese!

There was also a salsa van, hog roll stall and all manner of others. It was getting us EXTREMELY excited for Glastonbury in a few weeks. Neither of us have ever been to a festival before and I'm not sure about M but I've not even been proper camping before. So as you can imagine I'm pretty excited for the whole festival feeling and cannot wait for all of the food stalls! I hear there's going to be a massive variety of food and I'm starting to get hungry already....

Untitled

On our way back from the festival we stopped off to start our supply stash for the festival, picking up the super important things: cider, vodka, squash and glitter. We also picked up some crazy accessories too, flower headbands in the shape of cat ears anyone??

We need help though, having never been to a festival before we need as many tips and tricks as you can possibly think of for festival life and surviving 6 days without a shower or clean toilet facilities! Any help will be VERY much appreciated.

Were hoping its not going to be like the photos above which was a few years ago. This terrifies me and i seriously cannot hope enough that its going to be good weather! I'm fine with no sun....but constant rain will put a huge downer on the experience. fingers crossed!

I am hoping it's going to be a lot more like this!

We've already planned to have a BBQ on the first night so we can save some money and get the whole camping thing going on by cooking our own meal to start with. We had a quick run the other day with some BBQs from Asda and they worked pretty well.

Untitled

We had a feast with burgers and chicken, cider, salad and followed by the King of all ice creams, the Peanut Butter cup ice cream from Ben and Jerry's. There is NO OTHER flavour in our opinion!

Untitled

What have you guys been up to recently? Have you been to a festival and have any tips for us?

We tried out the portaloos at the Cardiff 7s festival yesterday and they weren't so bad, they'd only been there a few hours though and there was nowhere near the 200,000 people there will be at Glasto.

ANY TIPS PLEASE LET US KNOW!!!!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend :)

Urban Decay Start Getting Naked kit

Morning lovelies!

It seems to be Urban Decay madness on here lately, not only do they seem to have some fabulous new products that I NEED they seem to be bringing out some great offers too.

When I picked up the Naked Skin foundation they had an offer on where you could buy this set for £5 after buying the Naked Skin foundation (review here)

015

I couldn't wait to snap this up but unfortunately for me...the only one available was the battered box hidden at the back of the drawer! As you can imaging, blogger priorities meant that I was horrified I would have to take photos of a battered box.
Nevertheless the deal was far too good for me to miss so I just had to get it, for £5 I picked up the travel sized All Nighter Setting Spray and a mini Optical Blurring brush.

017

Let's talk about the brush first; I've been lusting after this for a while and cannot stop touching it every time I walk past the counter. I know eventually  I will buy it but my funds at the moment are very restrictive.....a car service and a plethora of weddings, hen nights etc means that my bank balance for treats is non existent. Ah well, such is life!

Having blended the Naked Skin foundation onto the back of my hand (always a good place to start i think....) the finish was amazing. The brush is so densely packed with bristles that the foundation is buffed in all directions into your skin resulting in one of the most even finishes I've ever seen.

My only issue that I've had with the miniature version is that because it is so small and the bristles so densely packed that it can be hard to buff it in evenly without brushing it off. The brush is so short it can be difficult and during my 6am morning rush i don't have time for the time and effort it takes when my Real Techniques buffing brush does a similar job with less time. I still want the full size optical blurring brush though, the finish is unbelievable!

018

The next product included to help give you the best finish is the All Nighter Setting Spray. M bought me this for my birthday last year and you can read my review here.

I'm a fan of the setting spray and have been using it sparingly for nights out and weddings but I will certainly be using it more now that i have another!
I apply it in the T and X formation that they suggest and it does help your make up last longer.

020

The full size Optical blurring brush is priced at £20 and I believe the travel size Setting Spray is priced at £9 for the 30ml.

So for £5 this was an absolute bargain yes? And I couldn't leave it behind right?

Good, that was the conclusion I came to as well.
